I suspect, actually, that this has deeper roots and that, more than anything, it is a push to legitimize something that most of academia and mainstream American culture have rejected.

in the 70’s and 80’s I did a lot of hiring, including for entry level jobs. Many HS grads could not fill out an application. They would either ask to bring it back later, or bring in a friend.

Be careful what you post, folks, or you might be called a RAAAAAAACIST the way I was when taking an on-line teaching course from (of all places, Regent Univ). The subject was discussing ebonics and I stated that we, as educators, had a responsibility to prepare our students to function at an optimum level so they can reach their potential - ebonics ain’t gunna cut it in the work place. Another student (Amish?) called me a racist, I went to the prof who was supposed to be monitoring the thread (instead she was at a wedding), sent the racist comment to Pat Robertson’s office then was taken to task by the dean for not following protocol for grievances. Because of “privacy rights”, I was never told what happened to this individual. This at REGENT UNIVERSITY!!!! Pat ole boy is just as PC as the rest of the libtard uni-s...damn shame...

What’s so hard about it? Only one verb tense, no verb agreement regarding number. Lot’s of filler like “know what I’m saying?” and “shiiiiiii.....”

I don't do the hiring, but I do have to teach former HS inmates how to do their job. My personal favorite is teaching them how to determine parts per hour given total number of parts for this hour and last hour.
Magslinger: To determine parts per hour you subtract total number of parts for the last hour, you wrote that right here, from the total number of parts you wrote just now.
OK, write that last number on the scratch paper. Write the total number of parts for the last hour right under it. If you take seven from eight, that leaves you how many?
If you think that makes me an arithmetic teacher, you have grasped my point.
