Neither the tea party nor the GOP started this debate. Obama really fanned the flames himself by weighing in and bringing it to more people’s attention and then it really became a political issue. Then Pelosi followed up by suggesting those who disagreed with the mosque be placed under investigation. Then the issue over who is funding it and the true motivation behind it, and the ideology of those behind it. It is not just about a building.
