I agree that the issue at stake here is not the first amendment but a radical, VIOLENT theocracy HIDING BEHIND “religion”. I agree with you. I would like to know why Islam “qualifies” as a religion.
It seems to me that any set of “ideas” that are based on some “leader” calling for followers to murder others, stone people, mutilate little girls’ genitals, extort money from non-followers, etc. should not be called a religion.
Any more than Jim Jones or Charles Manson followers should be able to get status as a religion. What if the Mayans decided to claim “religious status”, and the right to cut peoples’s hearts out, or toss virgins into volcanos... do we have to accept this kind of barbarism?
There is no doubt that the Founders had a Judeo-Christian culture in mind....certainly not Mayan, or Wahabbist, or Socialist.
But what we certainly can and should do is to put real limits on the number of muslim immigrants and visitors...

The way to prevent Islam to spread is to educate your children about the values of Christianity, classical liberalism, and patriotism. Also, fight hard for not giving the Muslims preferential treatments. Forbidding them from building mosques is not only against the 1st Amendment, it also is not much different from what the Muslims do. Again, I’m very familiar on the danger of Islamic spread—I lived in an Islamic country for very long. But, I also hold to the idea of freedom of religion.
Islam is NOT a religion... it is a MILITANT POLITICAL IDEOLOGY hiding behind the facade of religion.
Islam is no more a religion than that practice exercised by the Aztecs, the central purpose of which was the acquiring, centralization and increase of POLITICAL MILITARY POWER, the end goal being TOTAL DOMINATION.
Stop hiding behind First Amendment arguments. This is not about the First Amendment. This is about one groups attempt at world domination, one little step at a time. Man, do you have any grasp on the history of this “religion”?
I am also far from a PC person. So, I'm against giving them preferential treatments, nor do I try to avoid them from being offended.

In all seriousness, and with full understanding of the implications of doing so, I believe the First Amendment should be re-written to _specifically exclude_ “the followers of Muhammed” from any and all of its protections.
Wasn’t it Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes who once said that “the Constitution is not a suicide pact”?
I predict that if we keep going in the direction we’re going, that our very own First Amendment is going to become the weapon that ultimately destroys us.
And for that reason, It should be changed so that it cannot become the instrument of our own cultural suicide.
Islam should be banned in the USA — and in the “rest of The West”, as well.
Islamics _in_ The West should be given two options:
1. Publicly convert, or,
2. Leave - under force, if necessary.
You’ll respond by saying, “if we demand that of them, we are no better than they are!”

So long as Islam is what it is (and it is and must remain the UNCHANGEABLE word of Muhammed), it is anathema to all that The West believes and embraces.

What do we do when we find a cancer growing within our own bodies?
Do we “tolerate” it?
