teh, the, duh...
Huckabee has no shot at 2012 - he is socially conservative, but a little to liberal on the fiscal side.
If you cannot do better then this on your own turf, your boys are toast everywhere else.
George and Georgia are two different people
I'm not sure I'd call him socially conservative what with his pro-amnesty stance during the last go-around.
But both these candidates are pretty well known to Georgians. The folks who turned out (and turnout was light) made their judgment on Handel and Deal, not who showed up to endorse them.
Handel ( IMHO ) was poorly served by her campaign near the election in that the Handel robo calls were ‘ugly’ negative.
They turned me off. I voted for her anyways, because I wanted to send the message that establishment ‘Pubbies are not my first choice. Deal is arguably more conservative that Handel, but he’s been in DC too long to be fully supported.
He is not too socially conservative either.
Handle went totally negative on Deal at the last second.
I am on a number of mailing lists of politically active groups in GA since I am planning to live there soon. A number of them switched from Handel to Deal this weekend because of those attack ads.
Handel made a bad mistake making her last minute appeal on ethic charges filed against Deal by wacko Leftist group CREW. Those ads rally pissed quite a few people in GA.
But looks like the writer did some mangling of his own:
But in George Tuesday, Nathan Deal upset conventional wisdom and Karen Handel
Apparently, caring about what you write is a lost art...
Oh Great and Wise Mods,
Can you help this poor guy out? He is a victim of headline-no-spell-check-itis. Also, you may want to move this out of ‘news’ and into ‘bloggers’ before the mafia arrive and inform him of his faux pas.
I haven’t followed him that closely, but I know he is pro-life and pro-marriage. However, he is also pro-tax and pro-spending, at least based on his record in Arkansas.
is it true that Deal was a registered Democrat until ‘95?
He didn’t have a pro-amnesty stance last time around.
Gov. Mike Huckabee Thursday denounced a bill by Sen. Jim Holt that would deny state benefits to illegal immigrants as un-Christian, un-American, irresponsible and anti-life.
“I don’t understand how a practicing Christian can turn his back on a child from this or any other state,” Huckabee said.

Izzy, I admit this was a failure. I am used to do-overs on the main site I post on and got in too big of a hurry. By the way, I am the writer, if you will look at my profile.
I care very much what I write about.
I think if you followed him more closely, you would find that he is not pro-tax and spend. Not perfect, but not inclined that way, overall.
