Where does it say that the contingency plan involves ground troops? Iran is a semi-modern state that runs on gasoline. Bomb the refineries. Blockade the coasts. Cut rail and road traffic to the outside. Stand back and use the USAF to bomb strategic and tactical targets. Let Iran die a slow death. Send in the tanks to mop up what is left.

Well now! I extend a hearty “thank you” to Amadnutjob for digging mass graves so that, in the event a U.S. invasion is required, our troops won’t have to waste time with digging graves for Iranian dead. However, Amadnutjob, I’m thinking that an actual invasion probably won’t be required. I’m guessing that long before that Israel will turn Iran into a glass parking lot.

To open up the bombing, have the Iranian resistance plan nationwide protest marches. Early in the morning, bomb Basij and Revolutionary Guard bases as the anti protest forces gather.
