Aircraft falling victim to these methane bubbles will lose their engines-perhaps igniting the methane surrounding them-and immediately lose their lift as well, ending their flights by diving into the ocean and swiftly plummeting Methane gas is obviously lighter than water. But is it lighter than air?
My recollection is that a natural gas leak will sink to the floor -- being heavier than air. Thus, there would be no reason whatsoever for an airplane to lose its lift.

If the Relief Wells on the Maconda Bp well fail, I would like to suggest that we call the new methane spot in the Gulf of Mexico, the Obama Triangle.

There hypothesis lacks any documented instances to buttress their claim and doesn’t explain how aircraft’s compasses have gone haywire.

Well, there goes my theory: Lemurian cannibals traveling into the future, shooting down planes and eating them, leaving behind only napkins and salt packets, which one can easily see washed up on Florida beaches.

The Bermuda Lozenge isn't something people write books about......thus the name was changed to "Triangle"

Solved? No, this is merely another hypothesis.
Have any observations ever verified this hypothesis? Not that I’ve ever heard. Until an “experiment” happens that indicates this hypothesis works, there is no “solution.” They say the evidence is laid out but they don’t give any of the evidence. Have planes reported loss of lift before disappearing? Have ships reported giant bubbles?
Terrible headline not supported by the article. Poor reporting and/or severe journalistic misunderstanding of how science works. Just because you come up with a plausible hypothesis doesn’t mean it is correct.

I remember reading an article some years ago that said if you took any single area of ocean the size of the Bermuda Triangle, anywhere in the world, over time you would find dozens, if not hundred of mysterious disappearances.
