The $1.25 billion settlement, announced Thursday, comes on top of the money paid out a decade ago. The new agreement would provide cash payments and debt relief to farmers who applied too late to participate in the earlier settlement, The Washington Post reported. Authorities say they are not certain how many farmers might apply this time, but analysts say the number could be higher than 70,000.
And whites need not apply, right? Breitbart is looking like the brightest journalist on the Internet.
And by firing/rehiring Sherrod, Obama and crew have drawn attention to the whole Pigford case.
Unintended consequences, I'd say.
Of course, the bad part is she is now the Reparations (Queen)Czar.
Let's not. Why accept such a notion as fact without evidence?
I might be willing to make such a presumption if we were talking about the sixties. But in the 80s and 90s? I'm not without some experience here, and I find the suggestion preposterous.
Well, this explains Katie Couric’s recent heart-rending feature on a tragic black farmer who could have gotten ahead if only he hadn’t been discriminated against in agricultural lending.
sherrod and her husband got $14 million in taxpayer money for a black only, marxist commune that couldn't feed itself.
give them 40 acres and a mule
That’s racist. The reason they couldn’t feed themselves is obviously (1) racism and (2) GW Bush!
Apparently.
It’s much worse than the story says. According to the 1997 Census of Agriculture, there were fewer than 18,500 black farmers, and “re-adjudication” of the Pigford cases on appeal has raised the number paid $50,000 or more to 15,500 or so. Also, the new lawsuits, facilitated by Congress in an absolutely unprecedented way, may have as many as 80,000 plaintiffs before they are over. Thus, the Obama Administration wants to pay a total of nearly 100,000 people for alleged damage to fewer than 19,000. Check out Louis March’s book, Harvest of Lies, for the real story....
Give out the freebies and they will come.
It’s all about “gettin over on the man”.

Product Description
‘Most Americans who read any newspaper or watch television news are at least vaguely aware that a group of black farmers has “successfully” sued the U.S.Dept of Agriculture (USDA) for “discrimination”. This characterization is a gross distortion of the truth. Although the USDA Census of Agriculture for 1997 found fewer than 18,500 black farmers in the United States, more than 96,000 individuals attempted to collect payments through this lawsuit. It should hardly require a degree in rocket science to see that there is at least a potential for massive fraud in such an obviously disproportionate situation-truly massive fraud. - from the Introduction
This is a good thing, Have you ever seen that photo of Rangel snoozing in a lawn chair with shorts and a small tee shirt? No self respecting rage picker would stick is hook into him!
“Breitbart is looking like the brightest journalist on the Internet.”
Maybe so...
But this “settlement” was announced on February 18th 2010. I did a fairly detailed blog account of Pigford II on February 22 at:

I posted it here, and forwarded it to every major conservative media outlet. Actually a few folks here also tried to get “someone” to cover this. NOBODY found it interesting. It’s seems since Vilsack screwed up in the Sherrod debacle, some believe the department may deserve a bit more scrutiny.
I hope the story gets some real coverage - it is emblematic of everything wrong with the current administration, and why there is support for something called TEA.
I’l see if my black cat wants to apply. Also have a half black and white cat. What about the black beetles under the porch?
