Really, Kids (18-28) have been pretty much video game zombies that didn’t care to go outside unless it was for pot.

Well, judging by my children, I don't think they will stay turned off to politics. My kids tell me that they got sick and tired of me talking politics to them and just wanted me to be quiet. So I quit talking to them and now... Well they call me up and ask my opinion.
So I guess they do learn after awhile. The big wake-up usually comes after they file their first 1040 and they see how much they had taken away from them.

I’m not sure about them being turned off by politics because I remember another generation who fell for the peanut farmer and 4 short years later became Regan democrats, many never went back to the democrats.

Much like the average obama voter.

Thanks to Obama, my life is basically over. There is no point in trying to start a career or raise a family or serve the community or anything. There is only one thing left to do: destroy leftists

No jobs and debt as far as the eye can see.
Quite a future Obama arranged for those naive young voters.

Whatever. Thanks to Obama there is nothing left for the young to do but work minimum wage and play video games.

they fell for the golden throated oratory and failed to look at the man behind the pretty words STEREO TELEPROMPTER.They need to come up with a commercial showing Frat houses being raided by Obama/Pelosi/Reid look-alikes stealing stuff. When the kids ask what is going on - an "enlightened one" needs to respond, right after taking a hit off from a joint, "Wow - man - lighten up. How did you think Obama and his demoncrat congressmen were going to pay for all your "free stuff" like healthcare and energy man."

I always find it completely annoying when the handouts are refered to as 'Government' largesse. If all those Obama Recovery Act signs and all the Free Money programs were labeled 'Taxpayer Funded', people would catch on much more quickly. The Piper will be coming very soon for all those who voted for all the 'free stuff'. And the rest of us who don't deserve it will be punished, too.

That was my big wake up call about 13 years ago after I got my first job...I saw how much was taken away and began to question how it was being spent...not very long after that I quit calling myself a democrat...Now I own my own business...and obviously I am much more conservative than I was even 6 years ago...

IMHO the youth are abandoning the Kenyan boy king because he isn't going far left enough fast enough. Read the stories of the Netroots conference in Las Vegas. They want America to be turning into a Commie nation overnight. What all these lefties and the Kenyan ignore is that to accomplish their lefty goals they need to amend certain aspects of the Constitution. INSTEAD we are having a coup from within without a shot being fired (yet).

I don't necessarily buy the idea that these young people expected a free lunch. But clearly, they expected "unicorns and rainbows" as well as a kind of soft totalitarianism where no one would oppose what Obama was doing and that everyone would agree on what needed to be done.
Unless they had parents that raised them otherwise (or the benefit of real world experience at a young age), I firmly believe they expected the free lunch, the Skittle-emitting unicorns and the rainbows with pots of gold underneath.
That is what they were told to expect in the public schools and colleges by perpetually angry, socialist-minded "educators".
They say some conservatives were liberals that got mugged...we may be seeing the emergence of a new crop of twenty and thirty somethings who have realized that they are getting the mugging of their lives at the hands of a bunch of dimwitted, self-obsessed, hateful socialists called "democrats".

I read somewhere of who was going to be the next great generation but the people born in the Late 80's Early 90's (i.e. ME!) were to be it. The Men I have served with in the Military were some of the best I have ever known.
After I came home I was really caught off gaurd how much my Fellower Gen Y'ers HATE Obama. We would be talking and someone has a joke that just tears him a new one, I always made it a point never to discuss politics with friends and Acquaintances, but putting the smack down on zero seams not to be a hot button issue.
So I still see hope!
