While the U.S is certainly a declining power, we are not THAT weak yet.

This is a huge diplomatic coup for China, since it basically strong armed the U.S aside and successfully defended it’s ally from international law. Most of the time, it’s the U.S or our allies that gets to break international laws and get away with it. You can bet that most smaller countries in Asia are paying close attention to this.
