I’ve been going to International Living.com....lots of info there.

Lots of happy escapees....it would be heaven to get away from this nightmare.

I don’t wanna listen to one more black racist whine about being owed because of white racism, one more politician tell us, who work our butts off, that we are greedy for not paying for those who won’t bother to try, one more story about how the politicians throw our money around like it’s cheap candy, one more article about how the politicians live it up while telling us to sacrifice....and on and on and on...I’m sick of the scam and the scammers.

Everyone here knows what I mean.

Resources used to replace broken windows in another planet, means less resources for stuff to build in our own country

So then why weren't all these resources being used to build our own country prior to 1942? Answer: We were in a depression. That the war got us out of the Depression is obvious.

You claim it is not so. Yet, you fail to tell us what then did get us out of the Depression.

So, if not the war, then what got us out of the Depression?

the end of the war was what got us out of the depression. When the leash of the government was removed, the economy grew. When there is a World War, noone is willing to invest, as theres way too many risk. Once the war ended and government controlled was removed, the free enterprise system flourished

If you still think I’m wrong. You need to ask yourself this question. What is in wars that actually helps the economy? Is it the building of tanks? Is it the killing of people? What if we can replicate this activity without the killing of lives? Would you support it?

One thing I've found helpful is monitoring a specific Panamanian Facebook page:

http://www.facebook.com/internationallivingpanama

I'm not sure the American miracle will be created anywhere ever again, however we could see the day that America becomes unlivable for certain types of people.

Last week I happened to view some old videos from the days of the Rodney King riots in LA, and I came to realize exactly how dangerous things could become in the US given the right set of circumstances.

Another country that is interesting for those who are maybe a little more intrepid is Honduras.

The option of moving offshore, however, is my "Plan C" - I'm not going to go quietly into the night.

“It’s great for the general store owner, who now gets to sell all the needed supplies to both families to rebuild.”
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Sounds like it may be good for the store owner but the net result is that both families are ruined and generate far LESS total trade with anyone in the future. Any benefit derived from war that accrues to any one person, company or country is always more than offset by losses to someone else. For every “Daddy Warbucks” there are thousands of ruined or ended lives.

While the general store may owner may benefit from selling supplies to family to rebuild what was broken. Another general store owner (or the same store owner) may suffer, because instead of buying a new clothes for the season that year, both families were using their resources to replace what was ttheir broken windows.

You are mixing conjecture into the case. You could just as easily claimed that the family might have died from a random food borne illness, so by having spent the money earlier to replace the windows, it pushed the money into the economy instead of having the government confiscate a portion via the 'death tax'.

What *IS* known in this case... is that during the conflict, the families would need to purchase armaments, which is money that they would not have normally spent (and therefore there is more economic transactions occuring then a straight status-quo situation). And secondly, the survivors will have to make even more purchases to rebuild.

Claiming that they will now no longer be able to buy 'new clothes' (ie: other things) is speculation, for we do not know the entire situation of the families used in the example. Making this claim would indicate that you have more information on this scenario than is available, which you don't, so...

Perhaps they are well off, and can afford it all. Perhaps they would not have bought clothes next year, for they just bought new ones. Perhaps a meteorite will hit the earth and destroy all life on the planet, rendering the whole point moot.

That’s why it’s stupid to *START* a war to boost economic growth...

...but not stupid to profit from wars that already are underway.

Once a war is underway, there will be “families are ruined and generate far LESS total trade with anyone in the future”... and there isn’t much a business can do to stop it.

So all you can really do is take the money that they so desperately want to give you in return for the supplies they need.
