The Union Leader has been a power broker of diminishing returns for generations. They used to be able to make or break a candidate at least as far as the primary was concerned. As New Hampshire has gotten less conservative, they are no longer as strong as they used to be.

This is more a squawk about someone invading their turf and stealing their role as kingmaker(queenmaker) of old.

The situation in NH is, Ayotte is the anointed from above candidate. Most of us think Palin made a huge mistake.

Ayotte claims to be pro-life, but said she would have confirmed Sotomayor. That about did it for me.

Plus, as AG, she never prosecuted scads of evidence of voter fraud that was dropped into that office.

She seems wooden and controlled.

She’s a nice lady, but there are other more Constitutional types, like James Bender and Ovide LaMontagne that are probably preferable.

Of course a pretty face is hard to resist. :-)
