Ginsburg said that any changes in access to abortion simply hurts poor women.

Especially the unborn ones.

I should add that I don’t donate to Komen. My grandmother and aunt both died of breast cancer. Grandma was 69 when she died from her second bout and Aunt Pat was 46. We supported Komen back then because we didn’t know that they donated to PP. That was the early 90’s and now I have almost unlimited access to more information thanks to Al Gore’s wonderful invention.

Well, of course Planned Parenthood is just another part of the problem! Right on there... I’m just waiting for some honesty from the media...expect nothing from Panned Parenthood (Abortion plus)...

It’s a shame that most people are against abortion but the Supreme Courts have ruled otherwise. I think that eventually, common sense and reasonable justices will change this horrible reading of the Constitution. If not, this may be the Waterloo of our Republic.

You said, "The Catholic Church officially . . .".

The people you cite do not speak for the Church. They are just people who happen to be Catholics. Just because a Catholic says something they are not speaking for the Catholic Church.

Nancy Pelosi (who happens to be Catholic) says many things contrary to Catholic teaching. Do you also consider her "speaking officially" for the Catholic Church?

Someone needs to post the artist’s drawing of the day A.J. Ginsburg fell asleep at the bench.

"...they can control their own reproductive capacity,..."

They want to "control their own reproductive capacity", they should KEEP THEIR LEGS CLOSED!! THAT'S where the choice is, BEFORE they have sex!

With Obmacare it won’t be such a big secret any more since our medical records will be online for anyone with access to see.

Here is the credentials for Dr. Hamel: http://www.chausa.org/Hamel_Ronald/

Here is the credentials for Dr. Panicola:

Seems pretty official, although the articles don't specifically state that they speak for the church. The church has never denounced their “ruling”. In fact, there are many diocese around the country that are questioning their rational because the bishops seem to follow what these guys say. That sounds official to me also. Do a Yahoo! search on PP, Komen, and Catholic Church. It makes for quite interesting reading.

Two Catholic ethicists = the Catholic Church? What you wrote was disingenuous if not dishonest.

All manner of dissenting Catholic ethicists take positions at odds with the Church’s teaching.

Are you so ill-informed not to know that the Bishops are at war with the CHA over the CHA’s claim that Catholics can in good conscience support Obama, support certain kinds of abortion etc.?

You are citing as “official” documents from an organization that has openly dissented against the official Church, against the bishops.

Do a bit of research before you proclaim what the official Catholic Church does or doesn’t do.

Does Ruth Bader Ginsburg still have a pulse? Is she on life support? Never has a justice appeared to be nearer to death than this one.

Here, a simple Google search of Catholic Health Association and “bishops” yields this:

http://www.lifenews.com/nat6434.html

The CHA endorsed Obamacare; the bishops opposed it because it has government paid abortions. Your “official” Catholic ethicists are frauds.

Or try this:
http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/06/16/catholic.bishops.meeting/index.html

Sister Keehan, CEO of your “official” Catholic Health Association is the nun to whom Obama gave one of the signing pens for Obamacare. The bishops blasted the CHA for singlehandedly ensuring the passage of Obamacare.

“Official” Catholic Church my eye.

What does Obamacare have to do with PP in this particular arguement? I’ve read my bulletin inserts and heard the homilies, if it wasn’t for abortion, the American Bishops group (CAB?) would support this socialist medical takeover whole-heartedly. Now, back to PP and the ethicists. How do you know they are not endorsed by the Church? I would like a link to that please.

Seems pretty official . . .

THEY ARE NOT OFFICIAL!!!

Sorry for shouting, but these are laymen with no official authority in the Church. They have no more authority in the Church than I do. They do NOT represent the Church.

Just because the Church doesn't respond means nothing. The Church cannot respond to every comment that lay Catholics make.

How many times do have to say it. The ethicists you cite work with an organization that is AT ODDS with the bishops of the Catholic Church. You have no basis whatsoever for your original claim that the Catholic Church endorses the Komen Foundation officially. When YOU were asked for proof of your claim you cited the CHA ethicists.

I’m just telling you that the CHA is NOT the Catholic Church, can never under any circumstances be said to speak “officially” for the Catholic Church and is currently under one of the strongest attacks in memory from the bishops (who do speak for the Church) on a “Catholic” organization.

Obamacare was the issues that drew the ire of the bishops because of the egregious way in which the CHA campaigned for Obamacare in DIRECT opposition to the bishops.

Will you please, once and for all, retract your claim that the Catholic Church officially endorses the Komen Foundation and Planned Parenthood.

It
is
not
true.

Period.

It’ll take an amendment to overturn Roe.
