Funny how engineers have a different view of the world.

Ironic, in the 70's when I was an Engineering student, I had my first experience with a Chinese professor, Dr. Han who taught Fluid Flow. I was highly impressed with this man's native intelligence and uncommon common sense.

I distinctly remember him saying in class in broken English,
"Wait until after the revolution, then we all be poor". I went out of my way to look up his PHD thesis at the Engineering Library to find out in his introductory biography that he had escaped from Shanghai, China to come to America. I wonder if he were still alive now if he would return to China. As a postscript, I had the opportunity to travel to Beijing and Hainan Island (near Vietnam) to the SW on business in 1984 (Comrade Mao really held the Chinese back!). It's amazing the progress the Chinese have made since then and the regression that has occurred in the US. Zero sum gain.

A relative told me of a Vietnamese woman who came to America and started up a couple of nail salons. The woman chose to return to Vietnam saying that there were more opportunities in Vietnam than in the United States. Chilling and disturbing, but would not be of interest to globalists.

Why did legendary investor Jimmy Rodgers leave the United States to live in Singapore? Why is Rodgers having his daughter taught Mandarin Chinese? Answer: Because he doesn't know anything. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense doesn't it, and he is coincidentally not an "enlightened" engineer who knows about the world.

The developing countries which are NATIONALISTIC like China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore (part of the 7 Far East Dragons), Brazil will all economically outperform an UNNATIONALISTIC country like the US in the future. The Future belongs to the NATIONALISTS. There is no future for the UNNATIONALISTS.

I agree. I was also impressed with my Chinese professors during the mid to late 70's. (still wearing the Mao green uniform. Could of been because of the weather in Pittsburgh). When I visit China I am astounded by their growth and in some cases by improvements to American practices such as their interstate highway system. At the same time I am taken back by the devestation of the one child policy. Privately we talk about it and they do despair over the demographic situation. They bring up the 1.5 billion population and ask what else is there to do? They admit they do not know what is going to happen in about 15 years when the population pyramid inverts completely.

Sadly I have to also agree that there is much more economic freedom there than here. Tragic.

The Fluid Flow Professor, Dr. Han mentioned in my previous post would not have been caught dead in a Mao green uniform no matter how cold the weather.

The beggar thy neighbor trade policies of the Chinese will destroy this country. Both political parties in the US supported GATT and NAFTA. NAFTA was supposed to end illegal emigration from south of the border, in reality, it exacerbated illegal emigration.

Lack of nationalism isn't what is killing the US.

It is endless bureaucracy and taxation that is killing the US. It gnaws at everything we do. It is a chain around the neck of every productive person in the US.

I wasn't rude to you. You should try the same.
