Generally engineering involves studying specific problems and devising solutions using rational well-established priciples. Kind of like the logical step-by-step approach to fixing an overheating situation on a car.
While it may be satisfying, it’s not generally a good idea to strap C-4 to the car’s engine.
Come on people - think!!! The unknowns and unintended consequences of nucking an underwater pile of hydrocarbons puts this in the dumb$hit list of solutions.
What do you think is better..... letting the well bleed itself out over years (while recovering some percentage of the oil) OR potentially creating a man-made oily black hole off our coastline?

Right now the problem is a 22 inch diameter hole. Why does a 220 foot hole sound like a better problem?

Perfect place to create a mini black hole, let it suck all the oil off to another dimension.

I am very skeptical of using any suggestions of blowing it up, the Saudis are worried this oil supply if tapped will lower the crude oil prices, its such a large discovery and if it was deemed un-drillable because of unstable ground from explosions they would be perfectly happy.

The Saudi oil IS running out, they know it very well, they do NOT want to lose money, they have tasted unlimited power, they have effectively ruled the world through the profits from their oil, cheap oil for America they do NOT want.

Better off just building more skimmers to recycle the oil, stop trying to disperse it, use it.

We should have sent all those drilling rigs that could do the job to that area the 1st week. Instead zero sent them packing.

I know obamar wouldn’t allow the skimmers in earlier. I didn’t know that he wouldn’t allow drilling rigs for the relief wells in earlier. This is the first I’ve heard this one.
