Congress is irrelevant. Any federal version of health care on its face is unconstitutional since regulating health care is not an enumerated power specifically listed in Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution! The three branches operate only at the consent of the governed! The people have the final say as to how they will be governed! It is the duty of every American to defend the Constitution in the face of an out of control, tyrannical runaway government!

Perhaps these pubbies know it will be largely a wate of time to try and repeal nobamacare. He’ll just veto the bill and there’s not enough votes in Congress to override the veto.

Much better and easier to just refuse to fund it.

Primary every one of their rotten hides. They either fully 100% support, without equivocation, repeal of the Obamacare debacle, or they are gone. In 2010, or in 2012, any back stabber is out.

Better to allow the bill to sit rigth now until after November. If we have enough votes in 2011 it willbe repealed if not we’ll just defind it until a new president comes in who won’t veto it.

It’s not about actual repeal; it’s about showing the colors of opposition no matter what.

It Must Be made clear to GOP leadership, that conservative Shall Not Accept their betrayal of conservative principles anymore!

Vigorous and firm political action Must be taken quickly to challenge these RINOs. Petitions for recall, letter and call campaigns, popular outrage Must be forth coming, or we are lost (politically).

Actually, I just got an e-mail from McConnell asking me to send $ to Rand Paul.

Never got a similar e-mail from him on behalf of anyone else.

I'm working under the assumption that this Zelizer, an Ivy league academic chooses to comment about possible GOP division rather than the substantive issues because that's one of the lines of attach the libs are planning in defending Obamacare. It's more about framing superficial arguments full of straw men than addressing what is really at issue.

Soundbites are an enemy to critical thinking.

These aren't leaders. They're "leaders".

Get rid of them and get somebody who cares about what the American People think.

Murkowski is facing a challenge from a conservative who is endorsed by the TEA Party and Sarah Palin. Sarah took down the old man. Hopefully she can help take down “Daddy's Little Girl.”

I don’t think the Republican leaders in Congress (either house) know which way to turn right now. They are scared to tick off anyone — but by their inaction on this, they are already angering their Conservative base — and the Tea Party activists.

And although I think they’d prefer to leave it alone and do nothing, I don’t believe even THEY are stupid enough to believe if they take back the Senate this fall they can get away with not voting to repeal ObamaCare — EVEN if Obama just goes ahead and vetoes it. That would be fine. That would allow the States and the People to then proceed with the NEXT steps in STOPPING the travesty where the Republican Congress could not.

First, the State Legislatures (many if not most of them) could simply pass laws refusing to participate in ObamaCare, refusing to recognize or accept “federal mandates,” and denying Federal Regulators the rights or access to State records, personnel or control of healthcare insurance, information/systems or facilities as a violation of the 10th Amendment (among others). aka — NULLIFICATION

Second, the People could refuse to participate in so-called “Federal Insurance” plans and pools, or plans in which they are going to be forced, and they could refuse to pay fines with their taxes for “healthcare.” They could also refuse to cooperate with Federal/IRS Agents sent to make sure they have “purchased” the “required” insurance. aka — CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE

FInally, the Congress, particularly if one or both houses go Republican, could simply REFUSE to fund ANY of the provisions for enforcing or enacting ObamaCare. Just ZERO OUT every penny meant to implement the monstrosity that Obama intends to socialize our healthcare system. Naturally, that would turn into a battle royale — and Republicans have demonstrated an historical LACK of SPINE to fight those kinds of battles. BUT, if they could FIND some GUMPTION, if the Tea Parties could descend on Washington by the hundreds of thousands again, PERHAPS then, the Republicans could summon the FORTITUDE and screw up the COURAGE to STAND for what is right and REFUSE to back down. NO OBAMACARE! NOT NOW! NOT EVER!

Okay — I’m dreaming — but MAN, wouldn’t this scenario be NICE!? We can hope and pray, right?
