I thought the intercepting well drilling would take off the oil, so it no longer goes up the original tube.

Considering how much that cap is rocking, twisting and jumping up and down tonight, I’ll be surprised if that whole casing last days, much less weeks.
Seriously, it’s unreal.
If the well casing is destroyed, the relief wells arent going to help.

I don’t like the look of it. The entire contraption seems to be kicking. The flow rate looks tremendous.

This is a non-story.
The tilt’s been there since the accident. There isn’t any plan to cap the well from the top, it’ll be filled with cement from the bottom.
Bring in the Navy and a tactical nuke.
I hate to say that Bill Clinton is ahead of the curve on this one.
Vet, while I am worried about the status of the BOP and whether or not it could tip, I am also becoming alarmed as I read various stories that I cannot confirm regarding a theory that BP is not showing the bigger leak with its streams.
Some people are claiming that they have information that there is a massive hole in the sea floor 10 miles away from the BOP, and that it is gushing methane, toxic crude, as well as flame. They are also claiming that Obama has been aware of this since the beginnning, that this is why no efforts are being made to contain the oil as it comes ashore.
I have no way of knowing if this is truth or fantasy, but there must be some logical explanation with regard to the total lack of action by the government. I do believe that Obama wants to use this disaster to his benefit, but even this does not explain his behavior in my opinion. The total media blackout is also mystifying to me. I know they want to protect Obaby, but this is reaching the point of the unexplainable.
I’ve read that “hitting the target” with those relief wells is almost impossible. The idea is to drill into the “pocket” and take the pressure off that way. Two wells pumping against the one broken pipe. Don’t know if what I was reading was true or not.
But I do believe a lot more is known that what’s being told. They’re going to keep hope alive for as long as they can then finally tell us there’s nothing that can be done. I hope I’m wrong.
Our apartment is less than half a mile from the Gulf, so whatever happens, we’re screwed.
