Hes going to push for some unpalatable deficit reduction after he loses control of at least one house. He assumes the pubbies won’t pass any real cuts so he can say i told you so.
This will be the opening salvo of his reelection campaign.

That line needs to be used in a GOP congressional national campaign ASAP.
He basically said he is going to ask us to lower our standard of living. The man is insane.

“VAT coming up!”
...and collections from healthcare reform, and the end of Bush tax cuts. Basically increased taxes, but not decreases in spending. Oh wait, cuts in the military...
To: i88schwartz
VAT tax to reduce the deficit or no deficit reduction.
Double the social security tax or you won’t have it when you retire.
Double the Medicare tax or it won’t be there when you need it.
Buy government healthcare or pay the fine.
Some choices.

People should learn that lesson about me because next year when I start presenting some very difficult choices to the country, I hope some of these folks who are hollering about deficits and debt step-up because I'm calling their bluff. Well, he just let the cat out of his bag...

We'll see how much of that, how much of the political arguments that they're making right now are real and how much of it was just politics." FY and your new taxes, Kenyan.
The entire "stimulus" nonsense had a twofold purpose, neither of them to stimulate anything: 1) A massive bailout of unionized state employees, and 2) a rationale for massive tax increases.
And cutting the enormous Federal bureaucracy isn't a difficult choice at all, Kenyan.

uh oh...we ain’t seen nothing yet..with this mad man on the loose, every day a new nightmare is unleashed upon us, always worse than the one the day before. End it will, but how or or what will be left of us when its over remains a question mark.
To: wiggen
Good catch. Yep, although I don't see how asking Americans to pay more taxes, and then saying the GOP stopped me, is a winning strategy. Nobody outside of the people living off of the government will believe the guy, but even they will start to turn on him once their benefits start running out.
We have an ideological and aloof man in charge at the most serious to times. It makes me ashamed to be an American for the first time in my life.

He’s moving to decimate our military. Everyone living in Republican congressional districts with military bases should get prepared. He’s going to try to shut down as many as he can in the name of fiscal responsibility.

Please, please... give the guy some slack... you must
remember that he is accustomed to dealing with
people who cannot add or substract.

First, I thought he was just naive.
Then, I thought he was naive and incompetent.
Next, I thought he was naive and incompetent and stupid.
Now I KNOW he is clueless.
