And you were correct. I have been a conservative since about age 14 (1968) when I started reading National Review. In the early 1970’s, I was v p of the YAF chapter at Boston College. I had at least a dozen smarmy left wing kids threaten to hurt me, and only one dared “step outside”. One out of 12 doesn’t cut it ;-)
