“Jewish” is both a race and a faith. I think of “Jews” for Jesus as one of two things:

1. The equivalent of “blacks for Jesus”.

2. The equivalent of “ex-mormons for Jesus”.

That is, they are either highlighting their race or their former faith.

Nope, Yeshayahu (Isaiah) didnt speak of him either

Yeah he did... in fact, Moses spoke of him too. However, Moses wasn't a Jew.. he was of the tribe of Levi.

You're right. Deuteronomy 13.

Moses wasn't a Jew

Moses wasnt a Jew? That is like saying the pope isnt catholic. Sheesh.

No, Jewishness has never been a race. Ethnicities yes, race no. The Nazi's and other antisemite groups have refered to the Jews as a race but they are wrong.

Ok, Ethnicities. I was trying to present the concept, not precision.

Sammy Davis Jr. was Jewish, I believe. But he wasn’t “Jewish”. ;)

The term "Jew" (yehudi) comes from the patriarch, Judah. Moses was a Levite from the tribe of Levi, one of Judah's brothers. People who lived in the territory inherited by Judah were not called "Jews" until shortly prior to the Babylonian exile, circa 606 BC. It is anachronistic to call anyone a "Jew" who lived prior to then. It would be more appropriate to refer to Moses as an "Israelite" or a "Hebrew."

"The term "Jew" (yehudi) comes from the patriarch, Judah."

I think we are talking about two different things. It is true the name Jew is derived from Yehuda. Religiously, however it is generally accepted that the Jewish faith was completed at Har Sinai with the giving of Torah. That means Moses was Jewish, of the Jewish faith.

LOLOLOL!

Umm... No.

Find any record of any person from that time period who claimed to be "of the Jewish faith"?

There was no such thing.

I didnt say they they called themselves Jews at the time. I said we call them Jewish today as a point of reference as to when the Jewish faith began. Read more carefully next time.
