Researchers for the study also mentioned the role of religion in the findings, saying that women who never attended religious worship where more than three times likely to participate in homosexual relationships than women who attended weekly services.

This statement requires no further comment.

Having Cher for a mother would make a woman want to turn male.

I think *he* did and it is man who makes the wrong choices. There is more to be said there but I’ll leave it as it is.

Well, that explains why homosexuality is apparently increasing. However, it is not - they are just more vocal.

The 2000 U.S. Census Bureau found that homosexual couples constitute less than 1% of American households. However, American people at large estimate 20% percent, or 1 in 5, is homosexual.

I think the perception is carefully fostered by the media. Watching television, a disproportionate number of the characters are either gay or minority compared to the general population. One of those remodeling shows my wife watches had one out of three 'couples' who were with their same-sex 'partner'.

The overall image (and remember, on TV, image is everything) is that the homosexuals were far more common.

It is all part of the redefining of social norms by perception. It was done with divorce in the '60s, has been done (effectively) with out-of-wedlock babies, just to name a couple of things.

Keep in mind that it is easier for the state to control a population which does not have a parent whose primary job is to raise the children, as parental input is limited and their time is taken up in putting food on the table.

women who grow up without their biological parents are more likely to engage in homosexual conduct as adults

I have a real problem with this statement. I am adopted and so is my daughter. Neither of us has ever engaged in homosexual behavior.

women who never attended religious worship where more than three times likely to participate in homosexual relationships than women who attended weekly services.

That statement, on the other hand, makes sense. In fact it could be expanded to include just about any and all vices since women and men who are raised with religion, lack a moral compass.

I don't think that this is what is being said. I think, rather, that they are saying that it is a statistically higher incidence of that happening, not that anybody is assured that it will or will not happen one way or the other.
