Don’t believe everything that you read on the internet. Have you ever seen the images?

If you are not comfortable with it - get the pat down. I’ll go for the body scan.

“Travelers can still opt out of going through the full-body imaging machines and instead go through a metal detector followed by a pat-down.”

So, if you refuse the scan you go through the usual portal and then ALSO get a pat-down?

What!?

Why do the pat-down? Today, right now, tens of thousands go through the portal and do not set off the alarm and are not patted down. If they are going to do a pat-down on everyone that refuses the TSA “strip search,” then why aren't they doing that RIGHT NOW for everyone that goes through the usual portal?

Of course, the answer is clear: to harass people that refuse to strip for TSA perverts.

Another example of the insanity that is TSA and the uselessness of TSA.

I think you understand why the TSA wants to make it hard on you if you refuse the body scanners. Interesting they put the scanners right in front of the metal detectors, to indicate you have no other options. But believe, the day is coming when the body scanner will be mandatory. Incremental changes tighten the screws so people will get used to it.

Soon they will reduce the metal detectors to one lane, then it disappears or it is out of order. Why pay for the extra manpower and electricity when you have this body scanner sitting right there that does a much better job, according to the TSA.

I drive wherever I go inside the US, regardless of distance.

Takes too long from WA state to East Coast. Not to mention the events I'd miss because there would not be enough time to get from one to another.

You need to stop somewhere in between these two left coasts and settle down.

Actually, all I need is a job without travel.

Full body strip searches to fly. Now do we know we have a tyrannical police state?

“Been doing it for years because of a knee implant. I will glady opt for the body scan and be on my way.”

Ditto for me with artificial hip. I’m wanded and patted EVERY time I fly — by nasty, snarly, knuckle-dragging dykes. (Last time I flew out of LAX one of them looked like Maxine Waters, but she made Maxine look positively cuddly and sane.) Anyhow, when I see a full-body scan machine I go to that line. In. Out. Done.
