Obviously LA only means to boycott SOME things. They do have a contract for power, but I don't think they have a contract for delivery. Perhaps they should come and pick it up.
Then the deadbeats in L.A. will have to erect some wind turbines for capturing all the HOT AIR coming from the mayor's office.
They could offer steep electric power discounts to any California business that wants to move to Arizona, and free flights there on Arizona-based US Airways. The new citizens could buy a ranch with horses for the price of a CA tract house. They may have to learn how to roll their own burrito though.
I think it’s closer to 6%. I’m sure they are using more power then their percentage of ownership. BTW, don’t think they own the power lines to deliver it, perhaps we can make them come and pick it up. How do you want your electricity boys, in a tanker truck?
Most contracts have clauses in them.
If LA is boycotting Arizona, then that may be sufficient grounds.
Something along the lines:
‘at the request of the customer to not do business with out state...’
“We’re not going to respond to threats from a state which has isolated itself from the America that values freedom, liberty and basic human rights,” Beltran said.
The second part of the sentence is a response. They can’t even get through a sentence without contradicting themselves. Pull the plug.
“Who run Bartertown?”
Sever all federal monies to LA. LA considers Federal regulations and immigration law to isolate itself from the America that values freedom, liberty and basic human rights.
If LA doesn’t like the federal laws and regulations, which Arizona is requiring her LEOs not to ignore, then LA should take it up with the Federal government so they can be changed.
Until LA stops boycotting anybody who respects Federal authority, there is substantial Federal requirement for all Federal funding to be withheld from LA.
Agreed...TURN THE POWER OFF!!! Then watch all of the illegals go burn the garbage city down.
If he actually read the letter (can democrats actually read??), he’d see that there was no threat to cut off power. It was simply an invitation for LA to carry out its threat by renegotiating their contract with generating companies in Arizona so that they would no longer buy power from Arizona.
I smell the brewing of a civil war and I like our odds more and more every day.
Where is Jack Bauer when you really need him to send a message....
I assume LA is an incorporated city, incorporated by the State of California. States are forbidden by the U. S. Constitution from impairing the obligation of contracts. Cities incorporated by the State would be under the same restriction.
So, if LA unilaterally voids any contracts with Arizona, or any company in Arizona, LA might get dinged pretty bad.
I’m not a lawyer, so I’m probably wrong, but it sounds so right.
The feds will step in and nationalize the grid and the stations.
Yea, thats unconstitutional, but Obama isn’t a constitutional president. The government is NOT bound by the constitution at this time.
Is it starting to scare the crap outta ya yet?
Give them a brown out!!
California externalizes its problems so it can hypocritically claim to be politically correct - all this BS about Green Power is just that, they depend on dirty power in Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Oregon to keep their little minstrel show going.
Screw that cholo punk...
