The call for Obama's qualifications did start months before his election. Orly may have been most vocal, and is perhaps the best known, but there were others, including Phil Berg who pursued this issue. (Berg is/was a Hillary supporter).
So, yes, it was brought up beforehand, it was ignored by the MSM including Chrissy 'tingle' Matthews and others.
It is still an issue.
As is the question of the absense of all other significant documentation of his past.
If nothing else, it was this issue and the reticence of the occupant at 100 PA Ave to clear things up by producing the documentation (rather than seal his records by Executive Order) which put the first cracks in the facade of Hope and Change. Anything which gets people to doubt the 'one', which gets them to do even a little critical thinking about what he says is a useful tool in the campaign to make sure he is a one termer.
