Should post a sign on my house, WARNING no trespassing: if my dog don’t get ya, my gun will.
Love it!
I got broken into once when I was home. Loser punk had a crowbar, and thought the home was unoccupied. I rushed him and scared the living daylights out of him.
Chased his butt off with the crowbar and then called the police. They didn’t find him, despite the fact that this was about 5 blocks away from the station.
So, 9-1-1 is pretty useless. Self defense is the key.
Lol
I didn’t think of that ;)
It is a wry reference to the constant stream of cop-shoots-dog stories in which often enough the dog showed no sign of being a threat or the cop was just there to ask questions. Those SWAT raids seem to kill off dogs pretty regularly and not even always the “suspect’s” dog and often in raids at “wrong addresses.” At least one cat has been offed in such a raid though I am sure that cat didn’t satisfy the police union work rules. Raid scenes that include cops shooting dogs seem to never include cops shooting people.
I have a couple of nice ones but my favorite is a little side-by-side .410(.45 Colt) derringer shaped thing. I got it for the itty bitty cottonmouths I used to run into on my property. One doesn’t have to be terribly accurate.
Yeah. Aim high and shoot your neighbor in the next block. If you must fire a “warning shot” fire it into the ground or into a (wood) floor. I think the sudden pain of a hit to the body wold be a more urgent warning than a hole in the leaves of the tree in the yard. And if the attacker is holding a gun a warning shot gives him the time to get off a couple of rounds before you have your cannon on target. He won’t aim high.
