We did shoot a few. that works too. But there is something more romantic about the old school methods.
No virgins for you!
Nope. 100% success rate to date.
Perhaps the Russians gave them phones to call friends, family and fellow pirates, and instructed them to say, “hey fellow pirates, this Putin guy says we no attack Russian ships or we all get radiation poisoning. This Putin says instead we attack ships of that metrosexual Kenyan POS Obama. Although I do not know what POS stand for, we attack his ships. They say his ships come with red, white, blue flag. But stay away from ship with hammer and sickle, and we no get dead. Allah Akbar.”
But of course, the Obama administration will wonder why no more Russian ships get attacked.
Well, there’s this racial thing about black folks can’t swim.
In the absence of international law, I would be perfectly comfortable relieving the pirates of all stolen goods and then leaving them in the exact location found. If they boarded from a rowboat and are located 300 miles from land, so be it. If their boarding craft was abandoned once they seized a vessel, so be it. In the absence of man-made law, “natural law” will have to suffice: the legal analog of “natural consequences” used to teach young children. In that regard, “chumming” the water might seem a bit “unnatural”.
“I wonder if they got a last cigarette before pushed off the plank in chummed up shark waters?”
Silly per the Surgeon General smoking is bad for your health.
Why don't WE get this? We'd have them eating great food and then motivating all of their relatives to become pirates too. In one generation Somali pirates would be screaming for their American rights under the Constitution.
Guilty drove them to suicide. Those damn Russia must have made them feel bad about themselves.
Aint that just like a thieving pirate to steal more chain than he can swim with.
barbra ann
The Russian Federation flag is three horizontal stripes, white, blue, then red.
Nary a hammer and sickle on it.
Confess, you’re just trying to screw with the poor pirates’ heads.
That is the way international law used to work. You can summarily execute pirates on the high seas. They have no rights.
Or... As we say in southern Russia: Tough shitskiz you all.
The good swimmer part still holds.
The unidentified high-ranking Defense Ministry official did not elaborate on how the pirates died, deepening a mystery that has prompted speculation the pirates were executed by commandos who had freed a Russian oil tanker seized in waters 500 miles (800 kilometers) east of Somalia's coast. The official told Russian news agencies the pirates' boat disappeared from Russian radar about an hour after their release.
"They could not reach the coast and, apparently, have all died," the official said."
The Defense Ministry could not be reached despite repeated phone calls Tuesday to the press office and the cell phones of spokesmen.
Russian officials have said one of the 11 pirates was killed during a gunbattle when the Russian special forces stormed the tanker on Thursday. The others, some said to have been wounded, were brought aboard a Russian destroyer.
Officials initially said they would be taken to Russia for trial, but the Defense Ministry said Friday they'd been released because of "imperfections" in international law. The statement was met with skepticism, especially in light of a comment made by the Russian president.
'Do what our forefathers did'
We'll have to do what our forefathers did when they met the pirates" until the international community comes up with a legal way of prosecuting them, Dmitry Medvedev said on the day the ship was stormed.
Pirating a Russian ship seems to have had an extremely deleterious effect on the health of that group of pirates, too.
I agree that the incidence of piracy involving Russian ships will probably drop like a rock.
As long as they are feeding the crabs and sea urchins, I’m good with it.
