“four years after Hezbollah fought invading Israeli troops to a standstill in south Lebanon”
?Huh?
I guess that is what Israel gets for holding back.

It had more to do with the piss-poor accuracy of Soviet early missles.
Miss by a mile? Add 3 or 4 more megatons.

I am just worried that an an attack can lead to a four front war with ballistic missiles

That is true. An SS-18 Module 6 is a 20 megaton warhead. Cheyanne Mountain can only withstand a 10 Mt blast.

“The editor of this anthology hates war, was injured in the last war, and hates the politicians and diplomats whose cupidity and short-sightedness has made the present war inevitable. But now that we are at war again, there is only one thing to do: win it. Because the consequences of losing it are worse than the consequences of war itself.”
Ernest Hemingway, introduction to War Stories anthology, 1940 (?).
Quoting from memory. Too lazy to look up the exact words.
