Hopefully, it isn’t that high. 15% would be astonomical unless there would all kinds of deductions for middle income earners to bring it down to around the 5% range.

I’m probably thinking of the withholding rate - 15% of the Federal withholding amount.

Actually, Arizona's state income tax is the LOWEST of any state with a state income tax. For example, a married couple bringing in $150,000 (or under) are taxed at a rate of 3.36 (I believe).

If you must be taxed for state income, Arizona is decidedly the lowest rate.

Property tax rates are good too. The sales tax rate is high, however. In some counties and some localities, it can hit 8%.

You mean when our leaders were leaders and not politicians?
When they had courage instead of an instinct to pander?
When their first thought was the country and not being reelected?
Those people?

Education, medical care--NOT A DROP IN THE BUCKET--compared to what it costs law enforcement, court costs and incarceration of the illegals for committing crimes, many violent, after they steal into the country.

And how about the costs to drivers' insurance when you get rear-ended by an illegal who then runs away on foot? Whose insurance premiums have to go up to pay for all the damage done by the illegally uninsured?

"....put a 25% to 50% tax on remittances to Mexico or any other South American country."

Anything that helps put the squeeze on them is good. Without employment, there is no remittance to send. Make employee SS number verification mandatory PRIOR to start date. This is something that can easily be done right now.

Attrition works. We just need to make it not worth the hassle anymore. They'll leave just like they came.

Deputy Russell Pearce for President!

Brilliant. He could also write Mexican Law, where legal aliens have to pay for their children's public education. Or stay cool, expand his approach to have the cost of illegals to the welfare and healthcare systems calculated and made public. Oh, calculate the cost of of illegals to the law enforcement budget: arrest, incarceration, trial, court and other costs.

Remember the Alamo.

My preference is to Remember San Jacinto.

Pearce has another bill in the legislative pipeline that will make SB1070 look like a lollipop next to a firecracker. It aims to blow the lid off K-12 educational spending on children who are not citizens. It does not seek to deny them an education; it merely requires that the cost of that education be calculated and made public.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Hopefully, the true cost of educating these illegal kids will be published and not just the operating costs that the schools receive each year per student.

In my state more money goes to government K-12 education than any other single item. This is true also on the county level.

And...The cost of K-12 education is actually **higher** that it seems since retired teachers and other school employees are **not** considered a school expense. They are considered retired government employees. Also, government schools use many county services that are never recorded as school expenses. For example, lawn service and policing are not school expenses.

If voters could actually see the true percentage money out of their property, sales, and income taxes actually went into K-12 education it would knock their socks off! It would especially irritate them to see how much was going to educate illegals.

The voters should also be shown the true cost of educating charter, voucher, and tax credits kids as well. If voters could make a true comparison it would increase the pressure toward closing down the government schools and increasing vouchers and tax credits.

Unintended consequences of the movie “Avatar” ... at the end it shows the ‘natives’ escorting the ‘invaders (rich evil white men) from their land. Best part of the whole stinking-stolen-from-Disney-Pocahonus-theme.

La Raza and its soulmate MEChA are petulant reprobates.

Be careful there, Walmart is a major donor to both groups and everyone knows Walmart looks out for it's customers ;^)

I’m not all that surprised. There are plenty of liberals who are unhappy with illegal immigration. We need to make common cause with them on this issue, and then once we have deported the invaders then we can go back to our usual fighting.
