It's strategy. Does anyone really believe Chuck Devore (sp?) would win? CA is almost lost and the way to bring it back is incrementally...that same approach has gotten the country in this dire state...the communists have stolen our Country but it's been in degrees. Palin knows this. The first time I heard Carly Fiorina (right after the ax from HP) it was apparent she is a fighter. She hammered the 'status quo' at HP and was set up for a fall. This is not going to be rectified in one fell swoop..and probably not in my lifetime (depressing as hell) but it can be stemmed (if we have elections). Palin recognizes this. Am I giving Palin a pass? No...I disagree with her on a number of things regarding endorsements but, I do trust her judgement. We are not going to get a pure conservative candidate..it's never happened and it never will. Purity doesn't exist here.

“She was asked to endorse a candidate. In other words, who do you want to win and face Boxer. Her endorsement seems perfectly fine to me.”

She didn’t endorse the most conservative candidate, though.

I think this needs to be kept in mind when people bash other Republicans as unfit due to being not purely conservative enough compared to Palin. Truth: Palin is not much different from them.

" Don’t you dare criticize Pat Buchannon! He’s our hero!
Don’t you dare criticize Alan Keyes! He’s our hero!
Don’t you dare criticize Newt Gingrich! He’s our hero!
Don’t you dare criticize Lindsey Graham! He’s our hero!
Don’t you dare criticize Mike Huckabee! He’s our hero!
Don’t you dare criticize Bob Barr! He’s our hero!
Don’t you dare criticize Michael Steele! He’s our hero!

Its good to look back sometimes at people that were once revered at FR only to slowly fade over time.
Former “untouchables” that today many would be embarrassed to admit that they supported them.

Hero worship is never a good thing. All politicians should be open to questions about the decisions they make. I was an early Palin supporter here (many questioned who the heck that woman was who’s picture I kept posting-lol) but I don’t like this endorsement at all."
Perhaps a better take from your comment is not to expect perfection in a conservative candidate. Reality is a great deal different from the mythical world of perfection in which (apparently) a lot of conservatives live. Scott Brown is not Duncan Hunter and never will be, but as a Senator from Massachusetts sitting in "Kennedy's seat," he looks pretty darn good to me.

Carly is not my first choice, but she has the sort of business background that is needed in a congress dominated by professional politicians with socialist and Keynesian tendencies

I didn’t say I was funny. Cancer is a bad one, took both my grandparents and will likely take me as well. I hope her husband has been a pillar of support for her.

Reagan did just fine in the 1960s-1970s CA. I doubt Reagan could be elected at the state level in the CA of today.

Same BS I hear from peole like you year after year, election after election, justifying your support for the worst kind of Republicans on false promises of electability.

Often your pathetic RINO candidate loses, but even when you do succeed, we get SCREWED TIME AFTER TIME (e.g., Schwarzenegger, McCain et al.)

RINOs are CANCERS and you DON’T WIN WITH CANCERS.

Screw candidates who don’t give a damn about my constitutionmal rights and liberties; Screw candidates who fund big government givewaways and expansions.

This is indeed a sad failure of judgment. I, too, wonder why she would make this choice. It’s wrong, no matter why she made it, end I don’t believe this should result in a Conservative desrtion of Sarah. It MUST, however, make us cautious, and make us question — why? What’s she up to? What does she know that we apparently DON’T?

. . . followed by Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown, George Dukmejian, Pete Wilson, Gray DAvis, and Arnold Swartzeneggar. Heck of a conservative record there Pelham . . . got one right out of the past forty years and you want to wave the “Conservative California” flag.

“She hammered the ‘status quo’ at HP and was set up for a fall.”

What a load. Carly wrecked HP despite the attempts of the HP old guard to save their company. So now let’s let her follow that act up with a shot at doing for the United States what she did to Hewlett Packard.

Actually, I posted that just to stir the pot. I have no idea if it is a smart move or not but it is Palin’s move to make. If someone wants another candidate, it is incumbent upon them to outwork the competition.

She is getting conflicting recommendations from her would-be handlers.

What handlers?

Do you have a specific article stating that? Did you work at HP?

At least we did produce Reagan. A hell of a lot better than your LBJ and Dubya.

Yes, I believe he can win, otherwise I would not have spent the past year as an unpaid volunteer to help elect this gentleman and I know many more like me.

Give people something to vote for instead of something to vote against. That's the problem with the modern Republican Party; we get too many nose-holding candidates and we then wonder how a person like Barack Obama gets into office.

This "strategy" of lowest common denominator is what's killing the GOP!

“I believe this may indicate Palin is serious about running for president and winning.”

You may be on to something. She may have decided that she needs to have someone with a big title who can act as her state chair and work with the state apparatus. Myth is likely going to be able to install his throne dwarf Meg Whitman as gov. If she doesn’t have ties to the senator, she’ll be frozen out of CA.

I think this might have to do with pro-life issues. Supposedly, Carly has been pushing a videotape of DeVore having a Mitt Romney moment. She convinced Right to Life that she was the pro-life candidate, and Sarah’s biggest issue is life.

Sorry, you've gone so far down hill from that height, that you are beyond redemption.

I mean, come on, Jerry Brown? He was moonbat before mooonbat was cool.

Oh yeah, and we have a budget surplus, a growing economy and two conservative senators. You got $500Billion in pension debt, a dying economy with corporations leaving, and Boxer and Feinstein (and Pelosi).

Yeah Kalifornia is Konservative.
