This is why, as a Catholic, as far as I’m concerned the Catholic Church i.e The Catholic hierarchy can go piss up a rope. Everyone of these bishops and their churches should lose their tax exempt status.

Arizona's bishops -- including Bishops Kicanas, Wall and Phoenix Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted -- opposed the bill...an eye toward having the conference join friend-of-the-court briefs in support of overturning it.

Hey Church...stop interfering with my government. If you want to get involved in my government, then give up your tax exempt status. Pay for the right to interfere with the government, like we citizens do (at least 53% of us).

The old problem — take a perfect sane priest, make him a bishop, & he becomes completely unable to think or reason.

Sorry, but the Romans and Jewish garrison wouldn`t let ANYONE, including Joseph, Mary, and Jesus cross the Egyptian border twice without their papers.

Well, the Church lost me a few years ago on this issue, among a couple others. But it was primarily over this issue.

The Church has been solidly in the illegals’ corner for quite a long time. It will never see another dime from me.

Am in the same boat as you. If “the Church” wants to play these games, then it does so on its own dime, no longer mine. Then there is the Other Scandal which disgusts me. And we all know which scandal that is. Actually, “scandal” is too gentle a description.

"This is why, as a Catholic, as far as I’m concerned the Catholic Church i.e The Catholic hierarchy can go piss up a rope."

If you were a real Catholic you would know that what is happening to this country, and the world, is a result of our hardened hearts towards Jesus' teachings. The lack of conversion and repentance, as opposed "immigrants", is THE REAL PROBLEM.

Jesus taught us love, regardless of sacrifice. Too many of us refuse to embrace Jesus' commandment of TRUE brotherly love, which He lived through His crucifixion. He died for His love of thieves, killers, and betrayers. He asks the same of Christians.

The church is led by Jesus, and "if they hate you, know that they hated me before" John 15, tells us that you simply fulfill His prophecy. His most important commandment was LOVE. I hope you have time on earth to learn that.

What is happening in our nation is Fatima's exact prophesy from 1917, which warned us about communist influence and atrocicities in the world, that are unfolding right before our eyes, in nightly news:

http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_20000626_message-fatima_en.html

“The third part of the secret refers to Our Lady's words: ‘If not [Russia] will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated' (13-VII-1917).

The third part of the secret is a symbolic revelation, referring to this part of the Message, conditioned by whether we accept or not what the Message itself asks of us: ‘If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, etc.'.

Since we did not heed this appeal of the Message, we see that it has been fulfilled, Russia has invaded the world with her errors. And if we have not yet seen the complete fulfilment of the final part of this prophecy, we are going towards it little by little with great strides. If we do not reject the path of sin, hatred, revenge, injustice, violations of the rights of the human person, immorality and violence, etc.

And let us not say that it is God who is punishing us in this way; on the contrary it is people themselves who are preparing their own punishment. In his kindness God warns us and calls us to the right path, while respecting the freedom he has given us; hence people are responsible”.(5)

Fasting and prayer my friend. That's what it takes. Anymosity is what got us where we are now.

By the way, you are NOT a real Catholic. Not yet at least. I hope you find your way.

a path to legalization and citizenship for people already in the country

We have such a path: Go home and apply, as if you were a law-abiding citizen. It's kind of revolting the way our Eminences fight for the illegals because they're presumably Catholic. The irony is that . . .

1) a whole bunch are actually Pentecostal, and wind up in various Baptist denominations because the American Catholic hierarchy and liturgy are too wimpy for them;

2) a whole bunch of the others may be Catholic, but they barely show up for Mass, except on Palm Sunday, when they make absolutely gorgeous palm crosses.

Your Eminences: Illegal immigration is a loser any way you look at it. And go read St. Paul and Thomas Aquinas before making embarrassing statements about enforcing immigration law being somehow wrong.

I’m a Catholic and just who are you judge otherwise? I haven’t ‘’hardened’’ my heart towards Jesus. My complaint is with the Catholic Church in matters such as this and again take your own inventory and NOT MINE!!

Contrary to what we beleived during the cold war, many Russians are church going christians. Even Putin goes to church, although he is probably about as sincere as Pelosi and the other phony Catholics we have.

You are going to regret those ugly words against His church, and be very glad for that. I only pray it isn’t because of evil “accusations” that slander your reputation and burn your worldly heart. Just be glad for your salvation.

You are so lost my brother. I’m not be judgemental, I see and read your “fruits”. Believe me that I don’t matter in this issue. Just pray to the Holy Spirit for direction. If I bother you, as a Catholic, you know you should pray for me as well, right?

Where will these Bishops get the money for these lawyers?

The money will probably come from the assesments of 30% of each dollar put in the collection basket on Sunday or maybe Chatholic Charities or the CCHD!

The only way that the Bishops will respect the will of their parisioners is to reduce your weekly tithe by 50%,

The Bishops have never had a real job but they have all the benefits without having to work for a living!

Let the Bishops get the money for their Lawyers from all the illegal aliens, drug smugglers and people smugglers.
