Quite so. Thanks for the info.
You are a legal visitor. No problem. You are “documented”. Have a nice stay.
I'm going to mention that indeed abuses have occured only because otherwise someone will cite a case where so-and-so was abused, falsely accused, arrested, the governemnt is evil, ad naueum ad infintum, so-on-and-so-forth. This is the land of the free, home of the brave. OK? And you know. I find your query replete with naivete. I wouldn't be surprised if you threw that question out, in rather troll-like fashion.
Do you think life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is just some mere ad slogan? I think not.
Another lie being pushed by the media.
The “furor” is over millions of illegals ruining this country...we’re quite capable of that on our own...
That's not the only law they break, because upon entry they need to secure a job, in order to do that they have to buy fake ID, which means a green card or some other form of ID and a SS number, which doesn't belong to them. Then they get paid under the table. Right there you have fraud, tax evasion and several other felonies thrown in the mix.
Despite some of the bleeding heart trolls we have on FR who say that there are "good" illegals and "bad" illegals, the simple fact is they are all criminals and need to be shipped the he** out of our country.
The only thing I am upset about is that our RINO governor Rick Perry doesn’t have the stones to champion a bill like this in Texas. God KNOWS we need it here.
“Add to that FAA pilot’s “
Not to mention ANY law enforcement agent at any level can ask for the license for any reason at any time. I’ve never had a ramp check but I have had to show it to law enforcement twice.
The law isn’t in place to see if people are citizens, it is in place in order to help catch people here illegally. If a person is here legally, then they are fine, if not then they are in trouble. Visas count as someone being here legally. This law is a mirror of Federal immigration laws, the only difference is Arizona will enforce the law where as the feds don’t.
It is federal law already,,,wonder how long it will take the refried bean/communist/ socialist/RATs to discover this? Hint;; It was in one of those bills they didn’t bother to read before they voted on it.
What idiots. AZ is doing nothing but enforcing FEDERAL law because the feds haven't. AZ's law ALREADY is law in all the states, including Illinois. It's just that AZ is tired of waiting around for federal enforcement. It has given its state and local officials authority and responsibility to enforce the same provisions that are in FEDERAL law.
"The Arizona law makes it a state crime for aliens not to have immigration documents on their person. This sounds draconian, except it's been a federal crime for more than half a century -- USC 1304(e). Has the open-borders crowd forgotten that it calls illegal aliens "undocumented" for a reason?"

So, it is the law, other states just need to make it ALSO a state law so that they can enforce it!
As for being a law-abiding citizen/visitor - that's a virtue only dependent on the laws in force! Let me put it this way. I've been to the US six times in my lifetime, a total of less than three months, and I've been asked to prove my identity as many times as I have living 49 years in the UK.
So I put it to you. Is America still "the land of the free and the home of the brave"? I know it was once. I believe it can be so again. Now? Well, let's just say I wouldn't have asked the question in post #90 when I last visited, fifteen years back. I'm sorry if you found that upsetting, because actually, it's meant as a challenge.
