Try this:

Just because they give you a gun and a badge does not mean you can do anything you want...

I wish I had time to tell you what the corrupt cops in Kingman County Arizona did to me.

It was grand theft and kidnapping, and there is nothing I can do about it.

Chances are very slim that he’ll be convicted. Cops almost never are. The pig union will hire a bunch of “expert witnesses” and sleazy lawyers and bring in other cops to testify that this idiot was acting within his training, reacted properly to the undue stress of the situation and so on.

The jury will not convict.

I'll let Wendy McElroy make my comment for me.

A Cop Story

"According to CBS, Mandarino's attorney, Ed Wandering, says Mandarino's record speaks for itself. "He's a decorated officer," Wandering says. "He was officer of the year three or four years ago." I am not surprised that vicious cops are considered to be the best officers. This further demonstrates the incentives at work in police departments, the sort of men who are rewarded and held up as role models. People must realize that the type of unprovoked and sadistic viciousness displayed by Mandarino is not aberrant but the norm -- it is part of the police culture.

"Mandarino is now on "administrative leave" -- translation, a tax-paid vacation. And, yet, I am still heartened that he was charged at all. I don't have much hope for a conviction, however. Yesterday I blogged about a policeman in Illinois who killed two teen aged girls in a car accident that resulted from his speeding at 126 mph while texting. And, no, he was not on the way to an emergency. It was his third major accident; a prior one had cost the city $1.7 million to settle. The cop got 30 months of probation for killing two girls. The police can literally get away with murder."

Especially this:

"People must realize that the type of unprovoked and sadistic viciousness displayed by Mandarino is not aberrant but the norm -- it is part of the police culture."

I come to these threads just to see your remarks. I love your pejorative hyperbole.

I've read all I need to about this instance. I am unable to watch the video, however. Stupid firewalls.

Look, if the cop is guilty then lock him up, take away his pension, etc... He's a perp with a badge.

It's just the contention that ALL cops are bad. That's literally what people imply around here. But I know I'm a good one and I know the cops around me are good ones. I just gotta let this stuff roll of my back.

Actually not my contention that all are bad and I will admit to hyperbole, but there is entirely too much of this stuff going on, and too much of it gets covered up. It's the culture of "hide the offenses" that is more disturbing to me. I have an ex-cop acquaintence (sheriff's deputy) who reported a fellow deputy for beating a prisoner in the jail. He was told that his career was over for reporting it, and death threats were made against him and his family. The whole culture is rife with corruption, not just the ones who do it, but the ones who shield the guilty cops from their actions.

In Atlanta several cops murdered an old lady in what amounted to a home invasion. they were convicted of things like violating oath of office and perjury, and their higher ups were just transferred around and avoided all and any reprecussions. I think the longest sentence for any cop was 4 years. This for killing someone. And the cops that went to jail would not have gone if they hadn't been white and the old lady black (in black run Atlanta)

You obviously haven’t been around these type of threads long enough.

Perhaps you’re right, maybe I haven’t been around long enough, but I’ve been around long enough to see your posts on here and other threads and you are QUITE overly defensive about them.
Listen, I’m sorry other police are sometimes wrong, criminal, bad cops, whatever the case, but you consider that some kind of reflection on you and it’s just not!
