Palin drops the other shoe (Alan Keyes)
AIP / Loyal to Liberty ^ | 2010-04-12 | Alan Keyes

Posted on 04/13/2010 11:43:41 PM PDT by rabscuttle385

Recently I ran across a video interview in which Sarah Palin enthusiastically declares "I support Michael Steele…I think he's doing a great job. Michael Steele is an outsider. The machine, I think, is tough to penetrate--I think it's been good to have an independent outsider trying to create some change in the Republican Party."

Michael Steele has from the first day of his tenure been a spokesman for the RINO, pro-abortion, amoral, 'money is god' elite minority that presently controls the Republican Party. The statement that Steele is an outsider is an outright lie. He has for some years now made himself the tool of the elite RINO clique. There's only one sense in which Steele is an outsider. He's outside the purview of the conservative views of the pro-life, God-fearing grassroots' majority of the GOP's voting base.

Last week Steele went so far as to validate Obama's ugly abuse of the racism charge. To cover what he himself admits to be his "mistakes" he paired himself with Obama as a black being judged by a higher standard than whites. Obama has lied, broken every election promise, hidden all aspects of his background and never been called to account. No politician in American history has been held to a lower standard of accountability. So what is Steele talking about? Just like Obama and his verbal terrorists, Steele brandishes the charge of racism in order to intimidate his critics, and distract from the fact that their criticisms have a solid basis in fact. This gives aid and comfort to some of the worst elements of the Obama faction's media and political thugs. Will Steele stop at nothing in the effort to protect himself and silence his critics? How then does he differ from the arrogant Obama intimidators that as RNC Chairman he purports to oppose?

He imitates the Obama faction verbal terrorists, and Sarah Palin's response is to praise him for doing a good job. How can people who claim to be conservative go on blinding themselves to the truth about Sarah Palin? Just as they did when she was governor of Alaska, her actions belie her superficially constructed conservative image. In the critical area of her personnel choices she blithely promotes the wrong people, as she did when, as Governor, she boasted about putting a pro-abortion Planned Parenthood leader on the Alaska Supreme Court. Now she backs McCain, and heaps prevaricating praise on Michael Steele, though the words and actions of both men confirm their deficiency in anything that more than superficially resembles sincere, consistent conservative principle.

If Sarah Palin was authentically committed to the restoration of political integrity Tea Party people long for, she would be calling for Steele's resignation, not trying to use her popularity to shield him. I'm sure my words will merit shushing and the usual rotten tomatoes from people once again determined to hand the RINO GOP leadership another triumph of hope over experience. Do Sarah Palin's supporters want people to treat her the way the Obama's media clique treats him? Are we to be mesmerized by her words, but by no means analyze her actions? This kind of mentality herded people into supporting the betrayal of conservatism that characterized the locust eaten years of the Bush faction's preeminence. It's what created the void that Obama stepped into. The last thing America needs is more of the same, sweetened with a change of gender.

Sarah Palin's actions more and more confirm that she is pure and simply a 'Judas goat'. Her assignment is to gain some credibility with the disaffected conservatives in the GOP's grassroots base, then lead them over to RINOs like McCain and Steele (or Mitt Romney and Mitt Romney clones like Scott Brown.) She is a fabrication of the GOP's elite RINO leadership; a tool intended to help them survive what would otherwise be their certain political demise in the tidal wave of anger that is poised to sweep socialists, liberals, RINOs, CINOs (conservatives in name only) and other liberty threatening flotsam and jetsam out of their seats of power and influence. If this is the objective of the move to make Palin an icon of the Tea Party movement, many of the anguished, deeply sincere people who are pouring their hearts and hopes into the movement are simply being set up for another episode of heartbreak and betrayal, and this perhaps the last. If they truly wish to save America's liberty, they should first take care to save themselves this disappointment. It may be we have but one more shot at stopping the elitist juggernaut that means to overturn America's democratic republic. We must aim to make it count.

“...do you only selectively remember what the politicians feed you?”

LOL, this coming form a Ron Paul nut?

Here is what she stated when asked directly and not in a hypothetical.

Dec4, 2009 Interview with Lars Larson:

LARS: The amnesty proposal that was defeated in Congress — in your view, was that amnesty for illegals and would you back amnesty for a path to citizenship, as the current president calls it?

SARAH PALIN: No, I’m not for amnesty. Let’s ratchet this down quite simply to remember what we’re referring to. Illegal aliens are called “illegal” for a reason. We need to secure our borders and I am not for amnesty. And there are humane ways to deal with the 11-13 million illegal aliens who are in our country right now, but if they’re not going to follow the rules, they need to get out.

You'd be trashing Reagan for supporting and endorsing his party and a RINO...just like Sarah.

Uh, you said Reagan backed Ford AFTER the nomination. McCain's not nominated yet, we're still doing the part of the process intended to select a candidate and there are more conservative candidates in the race. Different situation entirely. It would be more apropos for ME to use your example by pointing out that Reagan worked against Ford UNTIL he was nominated. I certainly wouldn't hold it against Sarah if she supported a RINO after their nomination.

Plus, you completely disregard that I said I had pretty much given her a pass on the McCain endorsement, given her history with the man.

All you have shown is that Palin is wishy-washy on immigration.

When asked if she supported McCain's stance on immigration just last month, she said that she supported it. Either she doesn't know about McCain's positions, she does know about them and yet supports them anyways, or she is straight up lying. None of the aforementioned cases are favorable to Palin.

“All you have shown is that Palin is wishy-washy on immigration.”

No, her position is stated several times and in her book. She is “against amnesty” and thinks “illegals should get out.”

I said entire agenda, which is obviously not the case.

When Palin was working for McCain in Arizona, she pretty much fessed up, she thinks McCain can do no wrong.

“Everybody here today supporting John McCain, we’re all part of that tea party movement.”

So you admit that she was lying when she said she supported McCain's position on immigration?

I certainly wouldn't hold it against Sarah if she supported a RINO after their nomination.

If the RINO voted yes for Socialism like Romney etc then I would hold it against anyone supporting such. McCain for all practical purposes is the DEM's useful Idiot.

I said the following on a thread where Romney takes credit for Obama care and I'll say it here as well The only thing worse than a Socialist Republican is someone who would actually vote for or support such out of party loyalty. The GOP needs to do some inner party house cleaning TODAY and rid itself of it's socialist plague. Until that happens the GOP stands no chance whatsoever of stopping or for that matter even slowing down the Socialist Democrats.

Palin if she ever wants to be considered as a serious choice better start learning the definition of distance and acquire some of it for herself from the likes of McCain and a few others. If she does I will consider her as a choice. If not? She'll just be another annoying Mitt and Juan I don't vote for.

“She is “against amnesty” and thinks “illegals should get out.” “

This part of your post is true.

Palin is not a liar. You are a spammer Ron Paul zealot who thinks tearing down conservatives will jack you boy’s vote all the way up to 2%.

You will be shown to be the little boy liar if she runs and puts her official policy statements out there.

When she does I’ll be look’n for ya lol...and you know you’ll be shown to be wrong.

As I said o another thread, Sarah's endorsements bother me less than some highly visible positions she has taken. One in question is support for the "Law of the Sea Treaty". This sovereignty destroying monstrosity is even something that McCain quit supporting when he ran for office. I have yet to hear Sarah repudiate her previous support: http://globalsolutions.org/files/general/Palin_LOS_Letter.pdf This letter to Alaska's two Senators at the time urging them to support the treaty show that she was familiar with the fact that it was largely considered a threat to U.S. Sovereignty but she urged support for it anyway.

I was also not very happy when she went along with Mccain's support of the Bush bailout. She had stood her ground on Alaska drilling, so I could not see why she had to support him on this unless she agreed with him on the issue. After the campaign was over she continued to voice support for that bailout. Given that the House Republicans opposed this measure and had a free market alternative backed by numerous free market economists and think tanks, there is no excuse to continue support for that policy. Not only did she fail to support the courageous House members on this subject, but she appears to have thrown them under the bus in her book if the following quote reportedly on page 270 is accurate: "The House of Representatives rejected a Bush-backed economic bailout plan in a vote in which two-thirds of Republicans voted no. The impression this made on the electorate was not helpful to our cause. Millions of Americans were poised to go bankrupt or lose their savings, and the perception was that Republicans had failed to respond."

The polls indicate that it was support for the bailout that hurt our cause, NOT the House GOP's opposition to it!!!! This measure was highly unpopular and McCain's support dropped after he suspended the campaign to publicly lead the effort to get the measure passed.

I like Sarah and think that she has a ton of charisma and conservative instincts, but am not at all convinced that she has a consistent conservative ideology. If she decides to remain as a media figure attacking the opposition, this would not be a problem. On the other hand, these are questions that need answers if she is to be put forward as a leader of the conservative movement.

You can call me names too but it still leaves Palin saying two different things on one issue.

Since I'm living on a street full of illegal aliens here in Phoenix, I'm particular about your answer. Why don't you answer?

Palin is not a liar.

So she does support McCain's position on immigration, as she said on live television broadcast worldwide?

Palin has more than proven she is is another typical member of the OP(formerly the GOP) by running with and supporting a flaming socialist.

I don't have a list right now. This is 2010 not late 2011 or early 2012. I will say this. The GOP is in sorry shape. 2012 maybe this Congressional election may be the break or make for the very survival of the GOP as a political party. If leadership keeps on ignoring Conservatives and I mean the real ones standing on at least most of the Conservative issues and not the Progressive Rockefeller ones they may be replaced as a political party far quicker than the Whigs were. The GOP as a party can persish as quickly as it was born.

The GOP if it goes Reagan Conservative can win at least the House of Reps this election. But it will not win playing DEM-Lites.

An “outsider” must mean “maverick” which means Rino. Good to see out in the open.
