When this first came up, I stated here that there was no chance that Swanson (DFL) would act on behalf of the state.

So the Gov should file on his own as Gov.

This will be interesting. I would think that if Pawlenty has Presidential ambitions, he should fight against this new entitlement. Just sitting back and not fighting against this federal power grab from states would not gain conservative support.

She’s a hack, Hatch’s buttgirl.

It would be a pivotal moment for him, no doubt....

There is a difference between regulating interstate commerce and mandating interstate commerce.

Surprise! (Not!) Swanson is a leftist hack lawyer who couldn’t locate the underhandedness of the Al Franken recount (or didn’t want to).

You got that right.
Mike Hatch still exerts considerable influence at the AG’s office - even though he hasn’t been AG for four years now. it is a well-known fact over at the Capitol.
Whatever Mike Hatch wants, Lori Swanson acedes to.

I can see the day when a State AG can sue against the Chief Executive of the State. Government will come to a screeching halt. Who is in charge? This will show whether Pawlenty has the gonads to be President.
