Not sure why the author thinks Gerry Connolly is a "moderate". He has voted with Nancy Pelosi 100% of the time since he joined Congress last year.

"This bill is the largest single deficit-reduction legislation in American history. It's a good start in terms of sort of fiscal discipline, and it will bring down the cost of health care."

Pantload.

Every single one of them that signed onto that piece of crap legislation should be voted out in November.

"You're in the shadow of the nation's capital. Lots of people here have worked on the Hill or worked for government," Connolly said in an interview with AOL News. "They're very well-informed."

Connolly was talking to those who bread is buttered by federal government. Imagine that!!!???!!!

Ask this Obama-hole if he’d like to sacrifice himself should the bill prove to increase the deficit.

Then you can ask some of his constituents if they’d like to participate in sacrificing this worthless piece of liberal scum.

Canoli again.

Here's the deal. There are numerous public employees here who work for the federal government.

Ever since John Kennedy they get to buy medical insurance ~ with the government kicking in about 2/3 the cost.

What that means is that a large sum of money that is otherwise part of their compensation package is at risk for cross-subsidization of health care elsewhere in the country.

Being a rather bright and well-educated group and having worked around Congress for many years they know that this large sum of money WILL BE STOLEN first!

The original Hillary Care proposed exactly that ~ lump sum the health insurance funding for federal employees, veterans (VA), welfare, and military personnel, then divide it among the various needy communities identified by the Democrats.

No one around here believes it will be any other way.

BTW, that lady psychiatrist with the two nutso kids ~ word of advice to her ~ quit injecting them with the samples you bring home from work. They'll get better!

This is a terrible year to be an incumbent.

It's an even worse time to be a blithering idiot like Gerry Connolly.

"I just have to thank you for your vote. It's going to make a big difference in my life," said Lydick, a Fairfax psychologist. Both of her daughters have mental health problems, and one of her biggest worries is how they will get health insurance on their own. Under the new law, insurance companies can't deny coverage to those with pre-existing conditions.

Or in other words, she's happy someone else is being forced to pay for her two daughters health care because she doesn't want to pay the bill. That somehow her neighbors are just as responsible for her children's health care as she is. Any insurance that "accepts" pre-existing conditions is no longer insurance. You don't get to get insurance after you crash your car or after your house burns down. But people want something for nothing. It is their "right", just ask them... All powerful government will step in and force someone else, including her grand children, to pay so she can skip the bill.

“We’re all businessmen and businesswomen,” the Democratic congressman told the well-dressed group over bacon and eggs at a private club here. “This bill is the largest single deficit-reduction legislation in American history. It’s a good start in terms of sort of fiscal discipline, and it will bring down the cost of health care.”

Towing the line IS NOT GOING TO HELP YOU, congressman. Especially when their is a story in the San Francisco Chronicle today that DEBUNKS THIS MYTH:

The bill “saves” money and cuts costs by creating 157 new government agencies and adding 150,000 to the government payroll.

this is a plain old-fashioned Democratic tax bill, disguised as a “health “ bill, designed to preserve and expand the jobs and benefits of the parasitic class in DC. Nothing more...nothing less. Yours and mine health care needs merely interfere with their career plans.

there will never, ever, anywhere, be any benefits paid by this bill.

Of course the denizons of DC’s suburbs love it..for Pete’s sake..

What’s even stupider is that, from a pure political point-of-view, a large percentage of voters in Connolly’s district work for the government in various ways. This means that they already have good healthcare coverage, for the most part, and that they will be among the first to start paying big-time for “the other guy.”

If Connolly thinks that’ll make his voters happy, he’s been smoking the evidence.
