I agree that the Holy Father is blameless in the Murphy incident, but he does bear some responsibility for returning the pederast back to pastoral dudy in Munich during the 1980's.

Overall his record on the abuse issue is very good, but it is not spotless, which shouldn't be a surprise given that he's human.

What I find very dissapointing is that in the one case where he's not blameless, he refuses to take responsibility. He would be much more effective going forward if he admitted it and moved forward.

I was referring to the teacher and I highly doubt the student was raped in this case.

Apples and oranges.

Get your NAMBLA renewal in with your Census form?

For the love of GOD, can you stop with personally slandering fellow freepers, even if just for today?

i didn’t skip it, i saw exactly what it was. You were held to account for a post you made that cast you in a somewhat hypocritical light. somehow that doesn’t equate to accusing a fellow freeper of being a NAMBLA member. today is Good Friday. Our Lord hung on the cross for 3 hours before dying for our sins on this day. I am BEGGING YOU to stop this diatribe that you have been carrying on, not for me, not for Catholics or the Church but because this is the holiest day of the year for Christians and you DEFILE it with your behavior. please, i am begging STOP, even if just for today.

Let’s get our facts straight. I haven’t been on this thread all day and have only responded to replies today that were made directly to me regarding this issue.

You might want to call off your fellow FReepers.

Yes it is Good Friday, a day we honor the crucifixion but not necessarily the exact day it took place.

We should be Christians and defend the innocent everyday not just on special “Holy” days.

In reality, the accused priest should have been a defendant in a criminal trial, but that would have been "icky" for the church's image.

I hate to point out abject stupidity...but...the decision to arrest and prosecute someone criminally falls far outside the domain of the church....

Then again a quick perusal of your posts seems to indicate a tenuous grasp of logic...

Then explain to me why were they not excommunicated?
