I agree that the Holy Father is blameless in the Murphy incident, but he does bear some responsibility for returning the pederast back to pastoral dudy in Munich during the 1980's.

Overall his record on the abuse issue is very good, but it is not spotless, which shouldn't be a surprise given that he's human.

What I find very dissapointing is that in the one case where he's not blameless, he refuses to take responsibility. He would be much more effective going forward if he admitted it and moved forward.

I was referring to the teacher and I highly doubt the student was raped in this case.

i didn’t skip it, i saw exactly what it was. You were held to account for a post you made that cast you in a somewhat hypocritical light. somehow that doesn’t equate to accusing a fellow freeper of being a NAMBLA member. today is Good Friday. Our Lord hung on the cross for 3 hours before dying for our sins on this day. Yes it is Good Friday, a day we honor the crucifixion but not necessarily the exact day it took place.

We should be Christians and defend the innocent everyday not just on special “Holy” days.

In reality, the accused priest should have been a defendant in a criminal trial, but that would have been "icky" for the church's image.

I hate to point out abject stupidity...but...the decision to arrest and prosecute someone criminally falls far outside the domain of the church....
