No, it was a convention with carefully chosen delegates. The Virginia GOP does not do primaries.

BTW, seeing this is an old thread, Griffith won yesterday at the GOP convention.

I disagree. The other guys were unknown lightweights with no campaign wins and no money....and no hope of getting more money.

Griffith has experience, has won many elections and is the majority leader of the VA House of Delegates...and he can raise money.

He is the ONLY candidate than can beat Boucher and his $2M war chest.

He is a professional politician, a GOP good ol' boy, has NO connection to coal country, and lives OUTSIDE the the 9th District.

Since I have deep roots in the 9th District and know its people well (being one of them), I can tell you up front that he's DOA.
