The money quote:
For example, promoting hatred against any identifiable group would not only be considered inappropriate, but could in fact lead to criminal charges. Outside of the criminal realm, Canadian defamation laws also limit freedom of expression and may differ somewhat from those to which you are accustomed.
Of course I believe in Canada many facts about liberals, homosexuals et al, unless sprinkled with a generous porportion of political correctness will be considered as "promoting hatred."

You will realize that Canadian law puts reasonable limits on the freedom of expression One more reason to consign the Canadian "nation" to the ash heap of history.
There are fewer people there then in the State of California, and they run a little totalitarian socialist state on our borders, and are currently importing a sizable population hostile to our nation and freedom.
Time to end that little vestige of the past, and open up the natural resources to the people who brought freedom of expression along with political liberty to the world.
35 million smug little commies don't really deserve to control that much soil.

Which leads me to wonder: Are pecksniffian university provosts an identifiable group under Canadian law?

Late last year I was grilled for an hour (plus) by Canadian Immigration people when trying to enter Canada at the northern end of I-29 in North Dakota. They kept asking me about firearms.Have I ever fired owned a gun...have I ever owned one...when was the last time I handled one, etc? While I was being grilled my car (a brand new,not-inexpensive German car) was being disassembled by two Customs guys.My laptop was powered up and its contents were inspected.
Now,there are few people who both look more "middle America" and with a more "middle America" profile than me.And I've crossed more international borders in my life than I can remember (dozens and dozens of times) with only one problem (a South African Immigration officer to whom I mouthed off after he mouthed off to me...I was admitted after a few minutes).
The Canadian border station in question was dead at the time...me and a guy with Alaska plates.Maybe they were bored...or had to keep their "numbers" up (thus justifying their continued existence/staffing)..or were using me as a training exercise.I don't know.
It left a very,*very* bad taste in my mouth regarding Canada.
And BTW...I was admitted after the grilling/search and I was admitted again a few days later at another crossing.

We have a great respect for freedom of expression in Canada, as well as on our campus... Yes, we keep it in a dusty book under glass in a library. We take it out and look at it occasionally. We don't practice it anymore though.
"...as well as on our campus?" As if the campus were not really a part of Canada?

The gentleman has trumpeted and thundered in regulation politically correct style. He has held forth. Thinks it is Churchillian no doubt. He will have, no doubt, received the accolade from the burghers, so well ensconced in their little academic world. He gets a gold medal for that. Nonetheless:
Ann rocks!
