Forget Stupak he is in the crooks pocket. The crooks have the cards, all we can do is take away the deck.

So, he is one of the “special” ones the dimocrats have tagged as being “OK” to vote no, because of his special re-election needs. Point of all of this is that NONE of them should be let off the hook. The platform is now Replace and Repeal, as well as State’s Rights constitutional crisis and active state and local based civil disobedience- will will not pay and we will not play. Close your hospitals we are going back to the land.

That may be psy-ops or old news. I want to hear from Stupak first.

Here’s my motto: If it passes, it doesn’t matter how a Democrat voted.

To the extent that there are or were any Hubert Humphrey democrats left, who might have been seriously anti-abortion it is not true there was or is no hope. The answer is to remove these people from office by relentless pursuit, exposing what the bill will do to all Americans. Replace, Repeal and Renew. Separately to drive the same case, constitutional challenge. This obamanation violates the Constition in several ways, and as such, subject to individual citizens civil disobedience, as we do not consent to this, and will not comply. It is time.

MSNBC is not a reliable source for anything except irrational rants.

Bingo. I hope the GOP is smart to point out every one of those Democrat "no" votes (whatever number that ends up being), where all "YES" votes to elect Nancy Pelosi the Speaker of the House, and Steny Hoyer the Majority Whip.

I don't care if they voted no, or yes - they're all equally culpable for the bankrupting of our country.

Boehner: “Pro-Life” Democrats Can’t Hide Behind an Executive Order

Rec’d via e-mail | Sunday, March 21, 2010 | John Boehner

Posted on Sunday, March 21, 2010 12:10:31 PM by kristinn

GOP Leader: “Make no mistake, a ‘yes’ vote on the Democrats’ health care bill is a vote for taxpayer-funded abortions.”

WASHINGTON, DC – House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) issued the following statement on a potential Executive Order from the White House on abortion:

“The law of the land trumps any Executive Order, which can be reversed or altered at the stroke of a pen by this or any subsequent President without any congressional approval or notice. Moreover, while an Executive Order can direct members of the executive branch, it cannot direct the private sector.

“Because of Roe v. Wade, courts have interpreted the decision as a statutory mandate that the government must provide federal funding for elective abortion in through federal programs. In other words, no Executive Order or regulation can override a statutory mandate unless Congress passes a law that prohibits federal funding from being used in this manner. Legal experts at the US Catholic Conference of Bishops, National Right to Life Committee, Americans United for Life, and Family Research Council have confirmed this view that if the Senate bill is signed into law, it is a statutory mandate for the new health plans to include federal funding of elective abortion. The need for an Executive Order is evidence that this is true, and Congressional Democrats know it. Make no mistake, a ‘yes’ vote on the Democrats’ health care bill is a vote for taxpayer-funded abortions.”

Stupak’s only real chance to save his political career this Fall would have been to vote ‘NO’ and then switch parties. Remaining a Dem regardless of this votes outcome practically guarantees his retirement.

As it is now, his name is becoming a noun: Don’t pull a ‘Stupak’, man!

If Dems have not called the final vote on the senate bill yet, and they are not sure they have 216, do the rules allow them to delay the vote until tomorrow, or Wednesday, or whenever?

Yep. Until such time as the vote is actually called, the Speaker has the power to table (although that's not the right word), the vote until the next day(s).

What I'm not exactly positive about is the length of time that a vote can be held open. I know for legislative votes, the minimum time if 15 minutes, but I don't know what the maximum time is. Plus, it gets complicated if Pelosi is forced to actually have the roll called, because that is a very specific process, in and of itself.

But, I think that at best, the vote can only be held open for a period of a few hours.

“Elections have consequences, and conservatives who stayed at home on November 4, 2008, are equally to blame, if not MORE so!”

McCain would get us to the same end, so you can take this tired line and shove it.
