YES! They both have what it takes...Michelle Bachmann and Paul Ryan are drawing attention to their respective skills and I pray they find their very important places in this fight for our lives. I will support them.

I was pretty much with Bush until the amnesty debacle. Remember him sending that Chertoff down to Congress to twist arms? I also remember he had some not so friendly words for the conservatives. I have never forgotten that and never will.
He and McCain were disgusting on that issue.
Both still are... and Jeb is no better. I am through with the Bush family when it comes to elected office.

You and me both. I don’t thnk a Bush could do any better than McCain did. If he hadn’t put Palin on his ticket the Convention would have been a wake.
So be it. There are threads where your gripes are relevant. This just doesn't happen to be one of them. But I'm quite sure you'll continue your rant, because that, as I said before, is what you do.
I would love to see Michelle Bachmann rise in prominence. I think she, as a strong, principled conservative Republican, has a promising future and we need more just like her.
Make yourself relevant and donate to her campaign. She's under attack.
Michelle Bachman, anyone?? LOL!
Time for us Bachman supporters to leave, as the thread has been hijacked....
Look, I voted for Bush twice, I was happy the first 4 years with Bush. After that he upset me. Not for the reasons the democrats point out.
My irritation with this thread is with those who wish to diss Bachmann for political reasons. This woman is not running for anything other than her seat in the house.
I appreciate and respect her.
Bush, history will tell the tale.
We need strong conservatives like her who are not afraid of anything.
I think she has a great future as a leader of the Republican party - the real one, not the spineless version of it.
(I'm not sure, but I think you misinterpreted some of what others were saying earlier).
Hey, I am with you, the past is the past. Bush had great points and he also had some that lost him the support of his own. I still would rather have him than Obama anyday. Life was a whole lot better then.
Bush still comported himself as a respectable CIC and he was not a bad person like Obozo.
As far as Bachmann goes, I really like this woman. I ain’t rich but I will lose a bit for her.
Socialist inperpetuity is not a given. Even Castro agrees and knows. So does Kim Jong il.
These tyrants, I dont care which country they are in or from, will see their day.
“These tyrants, I dont care which country they are in or from, will see their day. “
Most will, but Castro already won the game!
No, quite the contrary.
“This thread is not about Bush, but you apparently are obsessed with him.
So be it.”
No, I am not obsessed. I tried to explain to you that I answered a question that someone posted ASKING about Bush and his “no comment”.
“There are threads where your gripes are relevant. This just doesn't happen to be one of them.”
That would be up to Jim and the moderators and not you.
“But I'm quite sure you'll continue your rant, because that, as I said before, is what you do.”
That is what I do? I seldom talk about Bush here but if a question is asked or a discussion ensues... I will make comment about it. What you want is irrelevant to me... unless you are entering into a discussion. Then as a fellow FReeper I will listen to what you have to say and make comment. You are ranting, not me... you are the one denigrating me, not the other way around. I have shown you respect in this exchange... you have offered me none... just the opposite.
“I would love to see Michelle Bachmann rise in prominence. I think she, as a strong, principled conservative Republican, has a promising future and we need more just like her.”
I do not disagree with a thing that you have stated about her.
“Make yourself relevant and donate to her campaign. She's under attack”.
Whether I donate to her or not... has no bearing on my relevancy. If you knew my history you would be embarrassed to say such things.
I do not know why you worship President Bush. I loved the guy... I still do... but he was flawed. He was NOT a Conservative and he loved big government and he was pushing as hard as mcnasty was, for full blown Amnesty... and he was a major jerk while doing so. ROVE has said so... he was the architect of most of Bush's policies. He admits that HE made a mistake in his council... you act like Bush walked on water... he did not.
He was great on Taxes and National Security... even better than Reagan on those two points. He spent... not like the dims but he spent far too much on entitlements... he made a huge mistake in aligning himself with ted kennedy on education... and he was absolutely 100% wrong on Tarp. He was wrong not to fight back against the “Bush Lied about WMD” debacle... he was wrong on the Dubai Ports deal... he was wrong on multinational talks with the norks (we should have caused them major pain and we have the ability to do it), he was wrong not to fight back against the bogus Katrina crap (and I lived through Katrina here in Mississippi and I KNOW what I am talking about).
If he had put the blame on the dims in Louisiana as they very well deserved and pointed to Haley Barbour and the way WE handled things here... if he had shown the subhumans in New Orleans firing upon helicopters that were flying in rescue missions, food and water... it would be an entirely different America today... IF he had only fought back for US... not him... not the office... but us... had he defeated evil in the war that the dims waged upon him and us... we would live in a different America. 2006 would have had different outcome and 2009 would have never happened.
No worries... I will leave you alone if you will leave me alone. I will converse with you if you converse with me with civility. I am not the one angry here... I just am telling you of my opinions and you have become aggravated by the same.

Let it go. Focus on the enemy. Try to become relevant to the dangers we now face.
See you around. :)
