You were saying ...

Unconstitutional, I’d say.

Will there be a court case, then? And will the Supreme Court take it up? And then, will they decide that?

There's the problem with those sorts of things, as I see it.

You were saying ...

I hate them too, I am but a small drop in the bucket, but if you get enough drops, you can get an ocean and that is what I am hoping and praying for daily.

As I was just saying in another post here, you better start looking at the neighbors around you, because they are the ones who put the representatives into office. There's the problem, not the legislators, but the people who live next door or down the street or in your district or in your state -- who put these people there.

If a particular representative is not in office next year -- the problem is -- no one took out the voter who put him there last time you see....

No doubt there are more than a dozen lawsuits awaiting the bill’s final form. Maybe hundreds.

Baghdad Bob is on the job, never missing an upbeat moment.

Reality has to intrude at some point. To “win” on this issue is to lose big, all around. If somehow, a “win”, meaning passage and signing of this bill, does succeed (and I concede nothing at this point), then the remainder of the Obama tenancy of the Oval Office is doomed, his majority in the House and probably the Senate gone, and his lame-duck status confirmed at an early date, with a probable challenge to his incumbency from fellow Democrats in 2012.

Much like LBJ in 1968, after he lost the support of Walter Cronkite subsequent to the reporting on the outcome of the Tet Offensive.

If this is the hill Obama wants to die on....

I am afraid that President Gibbs is correct. You've heard it here first.

With a plethora of "back room deals", arm twisting, promises of personal monetary gain, threats of support withdrawl, and a host of other "legal" activities, the dem/lib/prog/pops will indeed pass this disgrace of a piece of legislation.

Presidents Gibbs and Emmanuel have way too much power and know where all the "skeletons" are buried to fail at this point.

Again, you've heard it here first - this ungodly piece of tripe will pass.

Unfortunately, President Gibbs is correct on this one.

Unconstitutional, I’d say.

That doesn't seem to be stopping them. They are trying to sugar coat the bill for the stupid public. I think the chances of them passing this are 90/10 at this point. I'm not very optimistic. We need divine intervention.....and quick.

By next Sunday I will be a criminal or as I prefer to call it a “freedom fighter”.

I have been trying to read all the articles, listen to all the information but what I haven’t heard is what our options are if this obamanation goes through.

I refuse to take the healthcare option so what can I expect?

There's a reason that I make that point, and it's not so that we all can spread the despising to the voters, too.

The point of the matter is that you're never going to change this kind of situation that we're in with our government, but just get another batch of the same type of representatives -- until -- you change the minds of the voting public in a real and fundamental way.

If you just get some of those voters excited for one election and they go back to the old way they are voting, the doesn't change the course of this country.

You're only true solution to all these problems in government is to fundamentally change the way the voting public thinks -- and I mean "really fundamentally"...

I don't see that kind of effort going on. I just see the kinds of efforts directed at representatives --- which really doesn't work. The only thing that will work in the long run is some kind of effort that is geared strictly to the voting public and changing their minds, really fundamentally, so that they don't continue voting liberal all the time.

There's the true problem, here.

I do agree with you and your point is well taken. I see in my own community people talking and actually quite aware of what is going on. THey seem a little more educated and involved now. We are in interesting times indeed. Hopefully people will continue to engage and educate themselves. We need to help too. and I do!!!

Why would a show even book a slime like gibbs? He has absolutely no authority nor accountability. His only obvious qualification for his job is an innate ability to LIE and carry water. Having him on a show does nothing except present another opportunity for them to spread their LIEs. It doesn’t make any sense.

Gibbs: By next Sunday, healthcare reform will be 'law of the land...

...at least for a few months until the courts throw it out.

PS: Obama, it's not wise to piss off the Supreme Court at the State of the Union when the constitutionality of one of your top socialist plans will be decided by them in the near future.

AND BY THIS TIME NEXT YEAR THERE WILL BE REPUBLICAN MAJORITIES IN BOTH HOUSES IF THE BILL PASSES.

Prosecutions have to follow Reps leaving office.

Bribery is still a crime, and any Rep accepting one and voted out of office will no longer have Congressional immunity to hide behind.

Note to Reps who think that getting voted out will get them off the hook: We'll be warming up some jail cells for you.

I have two theories. One is that they’ve convinced members that they can convince the people that members aren’t really voting on the bill but voting on the Slaughter rule. I don’t think that will fly though.

My second theory is that Pelosi has, say, 212 votes. But the no votes include the ultra-libs like Gutierrez, and she’s just betting that when push comes to shove, they won’t vote against Obama.

But who knows? They have been willing to bluff before.

Yeah, I know what you mean. They're steam-rolling this thing for sure. But, I even wonder, with it being uncontstitutional, would the Supreme Court even take up the issue. There was another thread here on Free Republic, where other conservatives were saying that the Supreme Court does not interfere into the "legislative process" of how things are passed, but will only decide on Constitutionality of the "actual bill" itself.

So, if you're thinking that the "process" of how they pass it is unconstitutional, you've got disagreement with that idea, from other conservatives here on Free Republic.

We need divine intervention.....and quick.

I wouldn't expect that in the least. With this country officially kicking the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob out of the public sphere, with this country officially kicking prayer out of schools, with this country officially allowing over 50 million parents to kill their kids, with this country allowing homosexuality to be promoted as a viable lifestyle... I would not expect divine intervention, for the better, in the least.

In fact, if anything, the government we have is probably -- "divine intervention" in and of itself -- in that this government that we have -- is "judgment upon the nation" for its sins. I would say that having Obama as President is divine judgment.

You don't get divine intervention until a nation "repents of its way" -- and I see absolutely no sign of this nation doing that.
