Wouldn’t that be overkill? Is the Air Force necessary for that, along with the other branches?

Yes but OLB wants us to bring them home in shame. Yah, I'm pretty sure OBL and his posse won't claim credit...

OK, say we bring all American troops home from around the world.
How do we deal with threats? You say, “Touch an American and die.” Well, how do we find the killers? How do we deal with them? Do we launch an ICBM? Do we launch B-2 bombers?
Without assets on the ground around the world, we don’t have any real power projection. Yes, we have carriers, but even a carrier needs a place to dock occasionally, it needs to replenish jet fuel and food, the sailors need liberty.
The only Air Force aircraft that can operate around the world without local bases are the three strategic bombers, but without fighters, they are sitting ducks.
We will lose our intelligence assets on the ground. We will lose our ability to build relationships with other nations’ militaries. Our pilots will lose training opportunities and our military will become a true paper tiger. Morale will plummet and readiness will disappear.
...and don’t forget that it isn’t that hard to hit the CONUS these days. Terrorists and other nations can easily hit us. Without resources on the ground, our response will either be overwhelming or nonexistent. We can’t make a surgical strike or use small units of special forces when all strikes have to be flown from ships or the US mainland.
The idea of bringing home all the troops from around the world is absolutely the most moronic idea ever. It will irreparably harm the US and our allies.

Your question: How do we deal with threats? You say, Touch an American and die. Well, how do we find the killers? How do we deal with them? Do we launch an ICBM? Do we launch B-2 bombers?
Answer: Practice total war. Use hypersonic weapons to reach the target in minutes instead of hours. Waste ANY country or area where the harm to Americans originated See Dresden and Tokyo fire raids as examples
Your question:We will lose our intelligence assets on the ground. We will lose our ability to build relationships with other nations militaries. Our pilots will lose training opportunities and our military will become a true paper tiger. Morale will plummet and readiness will disappear.
Answer: We will gain credibility when people around the world understand we mean business when we say harm an American and we unleash hell upon you
Your question:...and dont forget that it isnt that hard to hit the CONUS these days. Terrorists and other nations can easily hit us. Without resources on the ground, our response will either be overwhelming or nonexistent. We cant make a surgical strike or use small units of special forces when all strikes have to be flown from ships or the US mainland.
AnswerIf terrorists or those who back them want to take a chance of being eliminated by daring to strike at America via terrorist action then dare them to take that chance. As sure as shooting impress upon their minds that the after life awaits them if they mess with America
Believe me they will get the message. Japan sure did
