You’ve missed my point.
My point is that the card itself is worthless when everyone already carries with them unique biometric ID.
*IF* they are going to follow through with the Real ID Act and the database it entails, then the card itself will be less secure than simply checking the biometric database.

Nonsense. Anybody can buy a fake ID with your name and can provide your SS#. Employers can’t weed out identity theft even if they wanted to.
The E-Verify system is up and running and is available to anyone that chooses to use it. It is being done in my state of Indiana and it is successful.
It matches numbers from the social security system with other data, and it works. Period.
It works for people that are using false SS# or names and SS#s that don’t match. But if somebody is pretending to be you — gives your SS#, your address, but their fake ID has their own picture on it, E-Verify will NOT kick it out.
I understand and agree. But it’s a start and could help a lot. We’ve got to do something!
