In another article I read that Moore had been working for an American company at the time of his capture. I don’t know the nationality of his 4 bodyguards.

They were all Brits. I remember when this happened. There's more to the story, but I demur at posting things that haven't been reported. Let's just say that they were being a little lax in their security procedures while at the MoF.

I'm glad he has been released and my condolences are with the families of those who were killed.

There may be some media-fiction as far as releasing all of those insurgents in exchange for Moore. Over the past couple of years, many detainees (as opposed to prisoners) who had been held for various reasons were cleared and released. I suspect that's what the article is referring to.

I wish our generals could send these terrorists to hell on a shutter, without the INSANE Rules of Engagement imposed on them by the gang of worthless, arrogant, condescending fools in the White House and Congress, who’d rather dirty their diapers and ask for “Mama,” when it’s time to vanquish the enemies of the United States.

Well, strictly speaking, we’re not. The Obama administration is. Thanks Val.

Who said he was a hero? He survived a horrible ordeal though, I don’t see why he should be condemned for that. I would have thought a certain degree of sympathy might have been in order, more so in the case of those who WERE killed though...

The bodies of three of the guards were handed to British officials last year and Moore was freed after several hundred insurgents from the group, including the leader, were released from US custody.

With the administration feeding the gators all the time it's no wonder the Taliban wouldn't accept anything less than 5 of their top tier for a deserter.
