He’s as Republican as Jacob K. Javits and John V. Lindsay were, which isn’t saying too much. I am surprised that he is already out and about for 2010.

Oh Yeah, Key areas in many ways.
Also Sarah know many people are hurting in those states
with unemployment.

She started her Book signing in Mich. for this reason also because while Mich was being written off. Sarah wanted to go there to campaign further in 08

If anyone is planning to go and doesn’t have a ticket yet, may I suggest getting it from the Paul site.

You can back off the gratuitous Romney-bashing.

Sorry, but there is no such thing.

There are, however, the multiple gratuituos positions that Mitt has had on every single issue important to conservatives.

Actually the SRLC people asked Dr. Paul to come speak at the event a month ago. Word just came down that he accepted the invitation just a couple days ago. Hence the C4L buying a big block of tickets afterwards in anticipation of lots of people wanting to come here him speak. Like it or not he is a big draw to such events. IIRC he’ll be speaking on the 10th.

So not only did they not “turn him down” but they asked him to come.

It would be a very good thing if the Paulista/Truther movement just went ahead and formed a third party at this point. We should encourage that.

Ron Paul and his supporters are the Republican party’s case of jock itch.

Seriously folks, did it ever occur to you that maybe some Ron Paul supporters donate all the time to FR?

They donate a lot of annoying propaganda. I know that. And, as for donating money, maybe that explains why they have a prominent link on the FR home page. I just don't know, but I've always wondered who that "tall Texan" is who comes in with big bucks at the end of the FReepathons. As I said, only wondering.....

How I wish that arrogant, self-promoting, annoying little gnat Ron Paul and his cult would go away

Would his cult include those that keep voting for him down in Texas?

lol...

...the SRLC has a major opportunity this year for great exposure with Palin keynoting the event.

Where did you get the info SP is the keynote speaker? I see list of confirmed speakers, but no schedule yet. It appears that Liz Cheney is the most highlighted of the speakers: http://www.srlc2010.com/blog/

Mrs. Palin will be one of many speakers, including Gov. Bobby Jindal, Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Rep. Mike Pence, Gov. Haley Barbour, Gov. Rick Perry and more here: http://www.srlc2010.com/speakers_list/

I seriously doubt it.

Probably. I wouldn't know. I don't live in his district; I am represented by the true conservative John Culberson.

Who's your rep? Some flaming liberal, I imagine.

This is good to hear. I was dismayed at this endorsement. The Pauls aren’t who they say they are and it isn’t enough to just blather about small government when (1) you haven’t done anything about it and (2) you cozy up to all of the wrong people — antiwar wackos and anti-Semites to name a few.

I thought I read it somewhere but you may be right on the keynoting. I'll see if I can find it.

As for your statement on Cheney being the highlighted speaker, GMAB, she's just the most recent one announced. SRLC President Charlie Davis had this to say about Cheney:

“Liz Cheney is a powerful voice in the Republican Party,” SRLC President and CEO Charlie Davis said. “She and her organization, Keep America Safe, effectively advocate for a sound national security policy to protect our country and our troops.”
On Jan. 7, he had this to say about Palin:
“We’re excited to have Governor Palin join us in New Orleans. She represents the future of the Republican Party and will be a huge draw for conservative activists from across the country,” SRLC Director Charlie Davis said.
My take on Cheney being a late addition is that Mitt Romney wanted someone there from his camp since he won't be there. Liz was the senior foreign policy advisor for Romney's '08 campaign and I fully expect the Cheney family to endorse Mitt or whoever will be the anointed establishment candidate next time.

You can't find it because they do not have a schedule yet; they will in a week or two, so stay tuned.

I didn't say Liz Cheney is the highlighted speaker, I said her appearance is being highlighted, i.e., publicized in a front page fashion.

And I read info on their Facebook page that Romney will be there, but we'll see about that as he is on book tour. As far as Republican candidates go, they all adhere to the platform and it is conservative.

Interesting note, but there are a lot of Texans with a lot of money so that could be anyone. My point was just that while we disagree on some big things like Foreign Policy and some relatively minor things like drug laws, everyone on here agrees that d.c. has become a thug dictatorship and the center of wealth in the U.S.

Meanwhile conservatives/libertarians/etc. argue back and forth over what to do about other countries and minor laws, our own country has been taken over by people who would happily embrace Fidel Castro and Che Guevara as models for their “ideal”. I haven’t heard anyone except Ron Paul seriously mention that we should tell the U.N. to kiss off. We’re still paying for so many of their screw ups that I can’t remember them all.

We can have our internal arguments later after we get the rest of the world out of our business and the communists out of d.c. Getting out of their business will go a long way towards getting them out of ours.
