Reading this thread makes one understand why Washington is so messed up. I'm not a Medina fan, but all she said was she didn't have the facts and it needs to be investigated. That doesn't make her a “truther” Isn't fact finding what you should do when you don't know? Being estranged from her parents isn't negative to her character, in fact the reason she IS says positive things about her character. The line of communication goes both ways. We don't know, we weren't there. We should start by looking at the woman's accomplishments.

Looks like Medina has almost zero support on this thread too.

Restore Sovereignty: The U.S. Constitution not only protects citizens’ freedoms in the Bill of Rights, it also divides power between the federal and state governments and ultimately reserves final authority for the people themselves. Texas must stop the over reaching federal government and nullify federal mandates in agriculture, energy, education, healthcare, industry, and any other areas D.C. is not granted authority by the Constitution.
Now we can’t have a candidate mouthing off about freedom like this. It’s borderline sedition. OK, how do we silence her? Easy, we demonize her. Label her a kook. Better yet, label her as a truther. Yea, that’ll do it. Beck would help us out on this one. He loves this kind of stuff.

I’m sorry, that Beck interview killed whatever chances she has outside of Texas. Maybe inside of Texas. No truther should ever be elected to any Republican position.

Texas has a constitutionally weak governor. His power mainly comes from his appointments and line-item veto on budgets.
In Texas, the Lieutenant Governor wields the real power.

I would have believed this headline before the Beck interview. Watch her only pull in single digits Tuesday.
Me, I'll be holding my nose and voting Perry.

She is a truther and a Ron Paul groupie who is attracting some protest support from folks fed up with customary politicians. I share the disgust with customary politicians, but the problem here is that support for Medina the Truther may force Perry and Hutchison into a runoff, which can only benefit the Democratic candidate, White. Perry will win the runoff, but until then he will have to concentrate his spending on Kay Baby, rather than the socialist White. In a state with growing immigration (legal and illegal) and no serious ID checks at the polls, there is less and less room for error each year. We need to get behind Perry to make sure we don’t get White in November.

I think the Texas Tea Partiers must be drinking something other than tea. If this idiot gets elected the Lone Star State deserves what it gets.

I’m convinced that Medina has a great chance of winning if all the other candidates drop dead.

Even without the the Truther stuff that surrounds here, it's discouraging that anyone - left or right - thinks that this woman is in any way qualified to run a state as large as Texas - not geographically large, but economically large. Texas is the second most populous state in the Union, with an economy that rivals most countries. This woman has run so much as a bake-sale.
Given the willingness of so many to support Obama when he was so clearly unqualified, it disconcerting that people are willing to even entertain this woman's candidacy, even of for a second.
