Now that's a statement by an Honest Conservative! I agree that Harriet Miers, No Child Left Behind, Immigration Reform, etc. made me incredulous, the 'body of work' that was the Presidency of George W. Bush had way more positives than negatives. And like you, I loved the man.

No, I would have just not voted at all. Gore and Kerry sucked and would have been horrible, but as I said, the only thing I care about is the bottom line. Under Bush, the government grew. Taxes didn't go up in the short run, but they will in the long run because of the deficits he ran. Yes, I know they are worse under Obama, that is not an excuse. Yes, you can also say there was a war and we were attacked. But if terrorism was truly an existential threat, we just would have nuked the whole Middle East instead if fighting this namby pamby 9 year war. So no, I don't need to rethink anything. I don't support big government in any way, shape or form, for any reason. I will no longer dishonor myself by voting for someone that represents big government ever again. I invite you do do the same.
