I know a person who worked for the RNC a few years ago. This person went from being an idealistic Republican to a cynical independent in a few short months.
This person had not much good to say for the RNC hierarchy. This person also spent time with Michael Steele (Steele was Lt. Gov at the time IIRC). Michael Steele is amongst the worst RNC Prima Donas by this person's account.

Michael Steele is an imperial chairman,” said one longtime Republican fundraiser. “He flies in private aircraft. He drives in private cars. He has private consultants that are paid ridiculous retainers. He fancies himself a presidential candidate and wants all of the trappings and gets them by using other people’s money.” Micheal Steele is the biggest disaster that the GOP has ever had. He needs to go at once.
Heck this money squandering fool would have been sacked long ago if he weren’t black.
