Possibly, it depends on the situation. What is right is not always reflected or supported by the law.

Paul Watson HIMSELF says that Sea Shepherd is the navy arm of Earth First.
Why don’t you go look that up?

Come on, every moron knows acid is bad!

That’s butyric acid they’re throwing.
Why don’t you look up what butyric acid is?

Butyric acid says “The substance is harmful to aquatic organisms.”

If Sea Shephed was truly concerned about oceanic life, they wouldn’t be throwing that stuff.

SPILLAGE DISPOSAL
Collect leaking liquid in sealable containers. Cautiously neutralize remainder with soda lime. Then wash away with plenty of water. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. (Extra personal protection: complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus).

and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth."

Remember?

I am Eastern Orthodox. We see creation a bit differently from the rest of Christianity.

Everything that lives and breathes is sacred and beautiful in the eyes of God. The whole world is a sacrament. The entire created cosmos is a burning bush of God’s uncreated energies. And humankind stands as a priest before the altar of creation, as microcosm and mediator.

I’m Eastern Orthodox too. I don’t see “except the whales” in that passage from Genesis. Again, the Whales the Japanese are harvesting are NOT endangered. They don’t waste them, they study and eat them. That would meet the requirements of good stewardship over the Earth that is also required of us.
Face it, your only argument is “I think whales are special”.

Not just whales. Wildlife in general.
More birds than anything else, actually.

Look I think Japan sucks for killing whales, period. They don't need the food and they lie and bribe to retain a supposed "cultural" tradition.

There are no laws governing the cruelty which is used to kill them.

And this website, Whaling Facts Summary says they have killed humpbacks and other endangered whales, and they defy a supposed protected region to kill.

So yes, Paul Watson is a space cadet at best, and I don't like his associations nor his apparent marxist beliefs, but I don't think we need to kill whales, when we have already killed them down to near-extinction.

If the same numbers and percentages were applied to bald eagles in this country, the killing of whales would not happen at all. It is only because they are in the ocean and only the nutcase Watson is willing to go out there and do something about it.

So good on him for putting his money where his mouth is, at least, and not being a liar.

We have laws, and so does much of the world for keeping killing of mammals humane, but somehow the whales get the short end of the stick time after time. They deserve better.
