DOE had burned through a whopping $522 million for the program, or more than 10 percent of its stimulus pot.

$522 million for 9,000 houses, and they'll never investigate and determine exactly where that money went, what individuals ended up with it. Just outright fraud and theft on the part of some group of people.

May I suggest a minor modification:

There are three Americas:
<1>The political elite class who pamper themselves by fleecing
<2>the hard working producers who are fed up with <1> and
<3>the slacker class who lack the will needed to develop and apply the skills required to support themselves. Instead, they see themselves as "victims" who are owed support. Just look at any failing school system and you will be depressed by the number of those in class <3>...

This depresses and angers me too!
