Early voting in Texas in the top 15 counties only garners about 35% of the total vote if I remember data from past elections correctly. As I said they use the same equipment, use the same voter rolls, same poll workers, etc that are used on election day.

Now some groups have a large push and make it an activity for the day. Example some church groups have a special effort, church activities-dinner, etc on a Sunday after church services, then caravan to the polls. Others will go to nursing homes and provide transportation to those ambulatory so they can go vote. Nothing wrong with that as long as they are registered voters. If the poll workers are letting them vote and they aren't on the voter rolls then that is another issue and needs to be addressed. But I'm checked just as if I would be checked on election day at the normal precinct I'd be voting at.

To each his/her own. I don't have a problem with it and it is more convenient.

I think he supported Gore for the nomination in 88 not in 2000. He FINALLY became a RINO around 1990, 10 years after the Reagan Revolution.

I voted by mail..My husband sent off for a ballet for me.The news papers are liberal owned in most or all of Texas..so that should tell folks something if they are endorsing Hutchinson then they know the way she will run Texas..The liberal way then we will go the way the rest of the country is going..

Texas is school poor. We have too many schools and too many school teachers. They don't need fixing. They need to be done away with.

That is one of the largest tax holes that property owners have to contribute to, imo. They seemed to perpetuate themselves regardless of need.

Do you have any idea what KBH conservative rating or her National Right to Life rating is? Perry on the other hand doesn't do a damn thing but make his buddies rich and people like you THINK he is a conservative because ... well why do you?

While she has voted for legislation that regulates or restricts the practice of abortion, and those votes show up on the National Right to Life Committee and Christian Coalition scorecards, she is by no means pro-life. To be pro-life is to respect innocent human life at every stage of development and to sponsor and support legislation that would once again extend legal protection to human beings from fertilization to natural death.

Senator Hutchison has said more than once that she supports legal abortion until viability.

When the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act was voted on in the Senate in 2003, a bill that was supported by abortion advocates like Senator Arlen Specter simply because they didn’t want to appear to be inhumane, Hutchison voted for it. However, she also voted for an Amendment that pro-abortion Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) attempted to attach to the PBA Ban, which endorsed the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court Decision and urged that it not be overturned.

Senator Hutchison is a strong and active proponent of stem cell research that involves the killing of human embryos, a position consistent with her justification of abortion until viability.

I remember a few years back writing to her and never got a response,so I called..It had to do with abortion and her vote(sorry I have no written record since she never answered me)..The person that answered the phone in the office was very rude to me..She would not let me get my point across and said that Hutchison had already voted..and then hung up..

Alright now as for your question about Rick Perry..I remember when Perry spoke to the Tea partiers in Austin and said Texas can leave the union if it likes..

“Texas is a unique place. When we came into the union in 1845, one of the issues was that we would be able to leave if we decided to do that,” Perry said. “My hope is that America and Washington in particular pays attention. We’ve got a great union. There’s absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, who knows what may come of that.”

Perry also was asked whether the tea party anti-tax rallies are part of a growing national movement.

“I have never seen the power of the grassroots as antimated and as focused and as coordinated...It is a very powerful moment in American history.

“I would suggest that members of congress who are filing for election or re-election in eight months are listening.”

“They’re hearing everyday working folks saying, ‘Listen, it’s out of control. We’re trying to live our lives and you’re strangling us with your spending and your taxation.”

Perry’s 1845 statement, Texas came into the union with the ability to divide into five states, not withdraw. After seceding during the Civil War, Texas was allowed to re-enter the union after ratifying the 13th Amendment. The 13th Amendment banned slavery in the United States and any territory subject to its jurisdiction.

UPDATED: Texas v White, a U.S. Supreme Court case decided in 1869, said Texas cannot secede.

BTW I did not write this but it makes me remember why I like this man so much..I know if he was serious then there will be more Texans go along with it..

Rick Perry is more of a conservative that Hutrchison..

Read about him for yourself..

Like I said, don’t have a problem with what your describing. I am sure the early vote is above board, but the guys I talked to said they encourage early voting so their group can assess how the vote is going early enough so they know how many bus loads to bring into which districts and how many ballots boxes to stuff in the districts they do control in order to steal the election. In this way they can cheat without blowing the overall numbers and sending up red flags.

I'm not a huge Perry fan, (although he'll get my vote), but in 2000, he was Lt. Governor and he did not campaign for Gore.

At least get your facts straight...

This idea that Beck (or anybody else) sabotaged Medina is absurd. If you can’t answer “did the govt have anything to do with the 9/11 attacks?” you're not be fit to run for dogcatcher.

For God's sake, has anybody really looked into her platform- her background? Has this woman even been vetted?

She wants legalized drugs.

She backs gay marriage.

She is for abortion

She has not spoken to her elderly parents for YEARS. They had to find out she was runing for governor of Texas by reading the newspaper!

http://www.statesman.com/news/texas-politics/medina-hailing-from-beeville-learned-political-skills-on-229907.html?srcTrk=RTR_95609 What does this say about this woman's character? And rumors are begin to surface about husband Noe's past associations.

Take a look at some of the statements she has made: "It’s a shame isn’t it, that Republicans continue to ignore Hispanics especially here in Texas?’

"Who is going to think more about Latino families? Rick Perry, Kay Bailey Hutchison or me, who has a Latino family?”

"Being married, however, to someone with a Mexican American heritage, I certainly embrace the culture.”

"I believe we too often get into race when it’s immaterial.” (Obummer, is that you?)

I don't believe for one minute Medina's propaganda about wanting to strengthen the border!

La Raza probably has her in their back pocket!

Glenn Beck has once again helped the tea-party stay in the Republican mainstreamby by weeding out dangerous fringe thinkers like Medina.

Medina is NOT representative of the Tea Party movement. She USED them- latched herself on to them. She’s a hard core Libertarian who has realized that the Libertarian Party will never win anything and that the only possible way to get herself into office is to do what Ron Paul did and wrap herself in the Republican cloak in hopes that it will fool enough of the voters enough of the time. Thank God Glen Beck outed her in time.

Retrieve your sombrero from the ring and go home Senora Medina. You're Texas toast.

At 3:30 medina says why no police killed 9 11 http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/politics&id=7274692

Are we so desperate to clean house of 'career politicians' that we jump on the bandwagon of an unknown ex-nurse with zero experience, questionable judgement and loyalties and who worked on the RON PAUL presidential campaign???

It would be nice if a Sarah Palin came up out of the tea party movement.

This has not happened.

Debra Median is no Sarah Palin.

Before we boot Rick Perry out, we'd better take a good look at how Texas stands in comparision to other states today, and be D*MN sure we know just what we are replacing him with.

Maybe a true Conservative will emerge in the future for Texas but we have no choice this election year.

Againn I’ll ask you about your spam and the above statement. Do you have any links to what Noe’s past associations are that you keep referencing? Do you have a hint as to what they are? Or are you just spamming for the sake of spamming each thread?

Legit complaints are worthy but accusations without back are nothing more than a reflection on the poster, imo. Medina has enough problems with what we know of her and her recent actions. Specualation isn’t needed.

I said rumor. That's all it is at this point. I've seen it in several places on the net. It bears watching to see if anything concrete comes of it.

Okay.......... I think Medina is out of the picture now and never really had a chance other than a spoiler. I guess the question remains can Perry win or will it go to a runoff. In any case it won’t be long now and we’ll know.

Early voting only give those who would cheat, the opportunity to do so. IMHO

Yeah, you've got to watch those blue-haired ladies and the old men with their canes. They sure are a cheating bunch! /sarc
